I have laser engraved a black keycap a bit deeper, painted the legends with model paint, let it dry for a week and brushed the excess off with the Dremel and a 300 grid tool. The final touch was wiping the surface with isopropanol and a nano sponge.

Yesterday, I have tested a new medium sized #hotPlate (for #SMD #soldering). The control response is quite good. The set temperature is reached reliably and without any overshoot. After placing a medium-sized heat sink on it and later removing it, the resulting temperature drop was acceptable.

I an still trying to find a good way for a reproducible was to dye sub the #C64 #keycaps. The silicone was not great, actually. The 2mm piece is soft (shore 5A), but the pressure in the center of the concave top was not high enough. Compressed aluminum foil was best, yet.

I have just made my first multi color keycap with dye sublimation. I still have to work out better process parameters. Anyway, it was not a total fail. #C64 #keyboard #keycap #dyeSublimation

It is 3am, you want to tell somebody about good heatsinks for the job and there is no suitable picture on your iPad. You heed to go downstairs to take some… then passion kicks in and you feel, you need to fire up Lightroom and GIMP. I discovered the focus blur filter of GIMP. Cool!

I was testing, if the uv decals would wear off. Wrote a BASIC program to count and pressed the prepared button 10,000 times. Well… the uv decal was not harmed, my arm still hurts, though. #Commodore #C64 #keyboard

Me and my C64 keyboard again 🤣🤣🤣 Today, I have received UV decals with the keycap legends from Badgeman. I have already appliedthem to one set of keycaps. It was much less difficult than I had assumed.

Both types of use… as #C64 #keyboard and USB keyboard. I needed this photo for my documentation.

My C64 USB keyboard with original keycaps. I used the keycap adapters, which came with the Retro Fuzion Mechboard. They replaced it. I used the replacement and kept these one. Some flawless new keycap nipsies are on their way. Oh, and some authentic desk clutter 🤣

I took some photos of the #C64 #keyboard with the iPad. Well, there is always something, that I dislike. A camera on a tripod is much better. I have tried to adjust the position of the case parts with a ruler. Oh well, I hate kneeling on the floor, which is clearly visible in that picture 🤣🤣🤣

It is great to have an inspection flap like this. A broken trace on the PCB fixed. Unfortunately, I had another problem, which let me take off half of the keycap and switches.
