Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

Wow! Note: ovarian cancer survivor for 5 years. My tumor cyst developed in the six months of the first lockdowns. I was diagnosed (during complete hysterectomy) on 4/9/2020. Post-op chemo (6 max doses every 3 weeks). Last chemo was jan 2021. First vaccine in April 2021. Had every booster since.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
