Last day of Gencon gave me the fanboy moment of my life: meeting Timothy Zahn - the man whose books made me fall in love with Star Wars. His characters - Mara, Thrawn, Talon - have stayed with me through the decades. Thanks to Catalyst Game Labs for hosting him! Sick art print by Joe Corroney.
Checks to resist purchasing things are always at a disadvantage in the Monte Cook Games room at Gencon I got away with a small purchase and picked up Cypher 2 player guide!
Look, it's taking the super tiny snails a while, but they're almost at Gencon.
I got to try out Bagged & Boarded board game at GenCon yesterday, doing a full playthrough in about 90min. Really really great game about collecting comic books. It has very intuitive mechanics and a great theme. Looks intimidating, but actually pretty simple. Way loghter than a euro.
My gencon day: 6am: up, shower, drive and walk to con. 7am: pre-opening coffee with friends - only time we have before everyone's busy 830: an hour of emergency writing work. 10: vendor hall. Quick game purchaes, hellos at friend booths. 11: off to dnd tower! Check out merch booth.

GEN CON PEOPLE: If you get a party invite from "punch bowl", even if it's from an email address you know, DO NOT LOG IN to get more details. It's a phishing scam. I got one from "Green Ronin" and called them to check details and it's not real, but there are others floating around as well.
I did Board Game stuff at UKGE, so not focusing on it as much at GenCon. My list: - Night at the Zoo (buy, played at UKGE) - Digging for Dinos (buy, played ly at GenCon) - Raindrops (see, maybe buy) - Kalypso (see) - Six Sided Seas (see) - Things on Strings (see if avail) - Treeline (tbd).

Gencon cometh! I'll be there. Easiest place to find me is at the Ghostfire Gaming booth (2935) on Friday 2-6pm. I'll also be in the audience at the d&d keynote thurs, and possibly at the Dungeon Masters liveplay sat. Otherwise, I'm wandering the halls or hanging out in various hotel lobbies.

The Toronto Tempo inaugural season's bringing me great moments on a weekly basis. The first WNBA game I saw live was only a couple of years ago in Vegas. Before the Tempo existed. Now the Aces are here, in our building, playing our team! Surreal.
