A little bit of quantum in my life. A little bit of analog computing by my side. A little bit of math is all I need. A little bit of the hacker scene all I seek.

Hey quantum bsky! Does any have any experience with becoming a Trusted Reviewer for Springer? Seems like the commitment is quite high for getting that title; you need to review one paper a month for them. Interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on this.

Using #RStats to simulate the sky for the full day of July 30th, 2025 in Washington, DC (what's coming in the future for #rayshader: give a lat, long, and time of day, and render an image with not only the exact sun orientation at that time, but a realistic simulation of the atmosphere as well🧑‍🍳 🤌)

It's finally done (enough for a preprint)! Today, in collaboration with so many folks at Meta (shout-out Daniel Levine and Muhammed Shuaibi, who put in superhuman levels of work), Berkeley, Stanford, NYU, and more, I'm proud to announce the Open Molecules 2025 (OMol25) dataset! #CompChem #ML 🧪 ⚗️

The Open Molecules 2025 (OMol25) Dataset, Evaluations, and Models

Machine learning (ML) models hold the promise of transforming atomic simulations by delivering quantum chemical accuracy at a fraction of the computational cost. Realization of this potential would en...

Crockett: Instead of the President cosplaying as the next pope, he may want to cosplay as an actual President of these United States. That means he may have to do a little bit of research and understand that he swore a an oath to defend and protect the constitution.

I am so excited that this is now out. An absolutely **mammoth** amount of work, please give this thread a read ⬇️💪💪

A massive study of 50,000 households over 1,000 archaeological sites provides ample evidence that inequality is not a "natural" outgrowth of sophistication. Instead, it is a political choice. Which means, kids, that we don't have to choose it. archaeologymag.com/2025/04/stud...

We're doing it: 2014-2016 SwiftOnSecurity meme dump + history. My account has gone through several "eras" in content/approach. This is the second, of fake quote pictures. I stopped as celebrity "parody" faded from Twitter zeitgeist, and my profile exited the realm of people who knew it was a joke.

The Atari STacy! Released in 1989, this portable ST has a pretty swish form factor when compared to it's nearest rival, the Mac Portable - and built-in MIDI! It was originally intended to run on batteries but they had such poor lifespan that Atari gave up and glued shut the compartment.

An ad for the Stacy with a photo of the portable computer (it's a bit bulky to call a true laptop) with a blue screen and charcoal grey casing and white keys.

A shared theme behind agency is that organisms are self-referential and self-creative. The authors suggest this is an unnecessary psychologizing of biological responses. But agency doesn't need a mental concept of “self-hood”; it needs something akin to autocatalysis, autopoiesis, or metabolism.
