None of this is ever attempted to be understood by anti trans campaigners, or most sport federations btw. The IOC actually did work to understand this but let federations take their own tailor made approach and they just used it to politically harm trans athletes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When trans people bristled at policies that required time to be on hormones before being able to join elite competition it was because: -time on HRT was arbitrary -testosterone level achieved was arbitrary -maintaining testosterone levels continually is arbitrary -no one else had these restrictions

“Protecting youth women’s sports” is fundamentally an issue about denying trans kids access to medical care btw. Because if a trans girl goes natal through puberty they’re a biological male. But if they don’t they’ve had proper puberty and then cannot be a biological male according to their logic.

There has never been to my knowledge an athlete to come out as trans and then transfer leagues after immediately starting hormones. There have been plenty of athletes who have delayed starting hormones to continue their current athletic careers in leagues that don’t match who they are.

I need people to understand that for the last half decade that there’s been an ecosystem of trans folks in sports media who have worked unpaid to serve as experts for context, sources and educators on what it’s like for trans athletes, in hopes of potential bylines and contacts. That’s dried up.

I hate sounding like a conspiracy person but there’s a reason that this Sophie Cunningham thing is on like day 7 of discourse and how there’s absolutely very little trans staff writers driving the news coverage of it.

West Indies-Pakistan day 3 is wonderful stuff because we're still in the oscillation between "we are so back" and "its more over than it ever has been" and that is a wonderful place to be for everyone on earth besides myself.

Feel like holmes is going to be dealt the last 20 minutes before the deadline as he goes to whatever team didn’t get the starting pitching they wanted and hopefully overpays

there is a strain of lefty discourse where you can’t come to any unflattering conclusions about the populace—those must be explained away by how they are being acted upon by capital—but I think you’ll understand things better if you understand capital can also exploit weaknesses it didn’t create

Working on a grad paper on the relationship between institutional trust and political polarization and this paper I’ve been reading was very interesting.

I just know there’s some people out there that follow me and absolutely find my posts terrible and insufferable and I’m dying to know what they think of me
