Looking for a last-minute gift for a 10-14 year old or a teacher or librarian? Please consider one of my novels! It Happened on Saturday addresses social media safety and Racing the Clouds reads more like a mystery with an unreliable narrator and flashbacks offering clues to what's really going on.
Please meet me in St. Louis if you're going to AASL! Can't wait to talk with librarians from across the country, catch up with author friends, and present with @alitereseauthor! #middlegradebooks #middlegradefiction #mgbooks #authorpanel #ithappenedonsaturday #racingtheclouds
I adore Melissa Taylor's Imagination Soup blog and am so excited to be a guest author!

Every time I see It Happened on Saturday or Racing the Clouds on a bookstore or library shelf, it’s a little surreal after chasing my publishing dream for so long. It was so much fun to go into the Barnes & Noble at College Station, TX and see this display! Next signing is B&N Baybrook 9/6 at 2 PM.

Teachers, librarians, and parents: In celebration of Juneteenth, I wanted to share this wonderful book by my friend, Tonya Ellis. This is a beautifully-written, lyrical picture book that joyfully showcases the origins of Houston's Emancipation Park with gorgeous language and lovely illustrations.
Just read this beautiful, heart-wrenching story about a boy coming to terms with his father's schizophrenia. Told with sensitivity and grace, this story includes interesting South Asian cultural elements, such as folktales, religious traditions, and foods. Such a unique and wonderful read!
What an amazing surprise to find my new book listed here among several of my all-time favorite books/authors! This is such an excellent article about an incredibly important topic--kids need to be able to see themselves and their families represented. www.highlightsfoundation.org/2025/05/16/f...
