I am proud of this trilogy of photos I took in Shadow.

I can't figure out if people on Tik Tok calling my Shadow of the Tomb Raider photos 'ai slop' is an insult or a compliment.

I am pleased to see that the society of raiders is turning out to be far more nuanced than an ancestral motivation directly handed to Lara Croft, but at the same time, I don't regret the community sending that nicely packaged reminder that we don't want that anymore haha.

Having your motivation directly handed to you by familial legacy is not the only alternative to "playing for sport". It feels like they not only refuse to avoid family involvement, but go out of their way to insert it, despite universal hatred from the fanbase. I just don't get it.

Kinda wanna tell TE Croft to shove this letter up his ass. This does not instill in me a desire to achieve a higher purpose, but rather ignites in me the visceral angst of a teenager in need of rebellion. I'm starting to side with the "plunderers and grave robbers".

Again, I firmly believe this is a case of "We weren't originally gonna evolve her to classic lara but we changed our minds but we also want her to still be survivor lara". I am very eager to see how Alix strikes this balance. Make me believe it. Make me feel it in my soul.

One more thing. I'm starting to feel more and more that physical books are the final frontier of owning one's own entertainment. When I open a physical book there is absolutely no way on this planet for a corporation to try and fuck with that experience in any way and I love that.

Just as I was understanding the importance of physical media, it's being stripped away. More than ever I value entirely local experiences that can't be interrupted in any way via internet. To me, online experiences are just a way to advertise and enshittify. Shame on playstation.

When it comes to music I don't think any era matches the classic era. Maybe Legend's main theme comes close. Shadow has Baptism of Fire which is pretty cool.

I've always been impartial on the topic of physical media. If Rockstar sees it most feasible to not release a physical version of GTA6 then so be it. But calling a code in a box a 'physical' release feels like a "fuck you" plus salt in the wound. As an aside, my impartiality is rapidly evaporating.

what i think is funny about it is that people in the gaming space do it in situations when just using a high quality screenshot from the game is super easy to do, but instead they use an obviously AI generated slop thumbnail that doesn't even look like the game their video is about.

I think it's fucking cool that they've kept this scar beneath her right eye ever since she got pistol whipped in the face by creepy Vlad on Yamatai. Thus far this is the highest/clearest shot of the scar on the LoA model that we've seen.

I just think this gameplay looks extremely fucking cool. It's this perfect balance between gritty desperation that we know from survivor era but now coated in a new classic inspired paint of competence, elegance, and control. I do buy her as evolved survivor lara y'all idk.

Why Shadow is important (despite its flaws): Post yamatai, lara has become the hunter who struggles with reckless OVER confidence leading to massive tragedy. This is a brilliant (and critical) developmental stepping stone between desperate newbie and calm/cool veteran.

The most stressful thing about watching new classic tomb raider players is that they basically never fucking save even if you repeatedly remind them and inevitably the reason they quit is because they lost some huge amount of progress haha.
