🃏 🎲 Last week we played our way through gaming history from early games like mancala and playing cards to the Nintendo 64 and VR headsets! 🕹️ 🎮 ☀️ Summer at the Library continues through August 22nd. See what else we have planned: walpublib.org/SummerAtTheLibrary

The caller on Rand Paul’s virtual town hall is all of us.
Just a small update, well, it was actually a big change to the system that took me days to figure out, but... I made the ocean practically endless by having it stream procedurally generated meshes as you get farther away from shore.
I can sculpt the caverns into the ocean plane easily enough but collision inside the cave tunnels is currently blocked off. Still, this view give me the idea that I should have the caustics effect inverted onto cave walls and ceilings.
Making a Blender character model for the first time in like... 8 years. This is for a game project with a late PS1 era visual style. I started with skin modifier and then applied that and used knife tool to cut extra polys into it for the face and cleavage areas. No textures nor hair yet.
I'm looking to get into a new competitive shooter. Any recommendations? I heard of Spectre Divide right when it was shutting down... and Splitgate 2 was terrible.
Playing Splatoon Raiders later tonight! Super excited for this as a fan of Splatoon who simply doesn't like the Nintendo online experience.
"Jarvis, you suck." Bixby: "I'm sorry you're having trouble. Samsung is always working hard to - " blah blah blah "I don't believe you." Bixby: "I completely understand your skepticism and appreciate your honesty." "Tell Samsung they suck." Bixby: "Thank you for your feedback."
I can totally see Ghostbusters as one of many multiverse instances where Doom exists and thrives.
As long as you don't show it on social media, it's free, but the moment you make money from it, it becomes a copyright violation and requires royalties. #DMCA

AI Is Already Generating A Flood Of Indie Game Clones
Played a couple new games today. New to me, anyway. I tried out the demo for an upcoming parkour game called "HYPER PRIMATE" that is actually a lot of fun but suffers from unoptimized hub assets and a weirdly designed onboarding plan and a lack of style.
Already found my Friday mood. 😌 Here's some meditating action for y'all. #VR #MetaQuest #PSVR2 #SteamVR
Here's what passthrough gameplay looks like in @cubism-vr.com on standalone Steam Frame. #steamframe #steamvr
Watch my good friend aMason :) play FO4 VR very poorly and probably do more role-playing and joking than actually playing the game. 🤭
Some of these clips are shaky, but I continue to have the time of my life in Fallout 4 VR. Here's the highlight reel from "It's a Long Walk to Diamond City" episode 2. Featuring much accidental self-immolation 😅 If you like this, sharing it would be rad!
Even the scammers got their jobs stolen by AI.
Genuinely, I wonder if AI is the greatest scam ever pulled
River Frog - Throwback piece. Built and animated in VR using Quill, rendered in Maya / Redshift.
I have an ocean/river tool that I'm developing separately to my terrain tool, but I realize now that maybe they should be combined so the river tool can dig holes using the path code. 🤔 This would make both tools better, right?
Jolt Physics is awesome, and a lot of games and engines wouldn't exist without it. Now, it has hair support?! Nice. Previously, I would have just made some physics bones for the hair.
Jolt Physics, the powerful free & open source physics engine powering AAA games, the #GodotEngine, #GDevelop and more, just released Jolt Physics 5.6... now with HAIR! gamefromscratch.com/jolt-physics... #gamedev #indiedev
Had this happened in the early-to-mid 2000s, I would have been all over it.
Now you can own a home in Gielinor as RuneScape has launched the highly anticipated Player-Owned Housing update. #RuneScape
I have working SDF sculpting for terrains in Godot engine. Inspired by discontinued/deprecated assets I used to use in Unity but working way better and on lesser hardware. The field region expands as the tunnels go deeper or the terrain rises within a capped limit for performance.
