How does ecological organization transform environmental resource inputs into conditions that can sustain a multispecies system? In a new Synthesis, S. Saavedra develops a feasibility framework linking resource capture, internal routing, and system persistence. systems-ecology.org/index.php/se...

Fun fact: Every Systems Ecology article has a unique network banner. The layout is generated from a seed based on the year, volume, and article number, while the nodes carry the author’s initials. Take a look: systems-ecology.org/index.php/se...

When do plant–pollinator networks persist, collapse, or admit new species? In a new research article, Fernanda Valdovinos derives thresholds linking adaptive foraging and floral rewards to species persistence across scales. systems-ecology.org/index.php/se...

What is the future of systems ecology in a rapidly changing world? In a new editorial, Deborah M. Gordon argues for studying ecological systems in transformation—and for extending systems thinking across biological scales. Read in Systems Ecology: doi.org/10.67837/2194

Many people have asked us how to start an independent Diamond open-access journal. So we have written "The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Starting an Independent Diamond OA Journal". We hope it helps many more community-led journals follow. systems-ecology.org/index.php/se... #DiamondOA #OpenAccess

🌱 Systems Ecology is now live! A new independent, researcher-run, diamond OA journal for ecological research through systems science. Free to read. Free to publish. No APCs. We are now open for submissions: systems-ecology.org Please help spread the word!

We're pleased to share that Systems Ecology has now received its eISSN (3143-5769) and is a Crossref member with DOI prefix 10.67837. These are important steps as we prepare for our public launch in September. Free to read. Free to publish. systems-ecology.org
