When news outlets use "robot apocalypse" or something similar when covering the AI threat, it keeps the subject matter in the fantasy world. If they used examples like "AI could empty your bank account" or "publicize your porn habits" it would seem scarier. I'm sure it would make Trump think twice.

Rarely do I, my wife, and daughter go out to the movies together but we all majorly enjoyed Project Hail Mary.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.
