AL.com@al.com · 11h agoU.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala, is alleging that Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed is a “terrorist” and “radical Islamist.” In an X post, Tuberville criticized El-Sayed because he says he “will do everything he can to destroy America.”

Good news: we ended up recording last night. Bad news: It was late and I’m old so I won’t get to edit until tonight.
A little heads up: flying solo dad while the wife is out of town for work, and the kiddo snuck in a late nap on the babysitter so he’s throwing a wrench into our recording schedule. Hopefully I can work some magic and get him down soonish and we can record, because Greg goes out of town tomorrow.

Quick summation of things we talked about: > The Belgium match was nothing short of embarrassing for the USMNT. Out-classed, out-hustled, out-everything. I thought we had a shot to catch an aging Belgian squad, but they showed why experience in big games matters. Why did we look so terrible?
Not looking good for getting this episode out. I thought it was just an issue of my mic getting disconnected, which would mean I'd sound like I did the show on a 2004 cell phone. Turns out there's glitches everywhere, maybe due to connection issues, who knows. I don't have the time or patience 1/?

Unreal. No way in hell I thought this one would be close. Just thought Argentina had too much fire power. But Cape Verde is so well coached and my god do they fight until the bitter end.
We will for sure talk about this crazy ass Jaylen Brown/Paul George trade. Hopefully, we’ll also talk about an African team that doesn’t get their heartbroken.

The athleticism it took to make that play… we absolutely do not appreciate athletes enough. Sure, we’re sports-obsessed, but we take for granted that these people walk among us poor schmucks who can’t turn our necks for three days because we slept funny.
Bama boys back in Omaha, Bama girls fall in Okie City, Bama fans need perspective (what’s new?), NBA Finals, big NFL trades, and more, all for your listening pleasure.
Reminder the NCAA could’ve gotten out ahead of this mess and created a functional revenue-sharing system where players got a percentage of tv money/ticket sales/merch sales/etc., and were allowed to have jobs/take endorsements — and everyone would be happy right now. But, alas, greed…
Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social · 2mo agofor decades the NCAA got away with a blatantly illegal business model because judges approved of the concept of amateurism, then the tide turned and they lost amateurism cases on the merits, now no judges respect the NCAA at all and they're getting dunked on in cases where they're kinda right
