Macross series rankings now that I've finished. Nothing ever matched the og, not even close tbh, but I never disliked any of them. Feels weird not having another one to watch (For now). The more major series get bigger fonts. Still taking a bit more time off drawing, maybe something soon.

Finally finished Macross Delta. Every series had a moment where it clicked with me, but Delta never did. It had its moments, and I liked some of the ideas it was going for, but it never hit the mark. The sequel movie was fun though, had a good time with that. I'll do a ranking of them all later.

I have relatives over for a while so I'm on a (Needed) art break. My cousins wife made these goblin and spider plushies for me.

Did this a few days ago but wasn't sure on posting it since it's more grim than usual. I haven't drawn anything in a few days. Largely shut down. My relatives are going to be here for a while so that'll slow it even more. I'd say it might be good for me, but I've taken breaks and they never help.

1hr~ sketch Takes as long to do basic standing/sitting poses as it does for more dynamic ones. I don't want to find a ref for every single thing I do, but I feel like I have to. Whenever I try to be faster it either takes just as long but looks far worse, or is much faster but completely unusable.

Started Macross Delta. It's more of an idol+Magical girl series than I would have expected. I have no strong opinions in any direction for it right now, except that the CGI is horrendous. Far worse than Frontier's. Some other stuff I'm watching this season. It's rare that I was stuff that's airing.

The Ranka pic I posted yesterday took 8hrs~. No clue why, it just took forever. I can't get myself drawing long enough to stay motivated. Irl stuff is getting much worse so I'm taking more time doing that, but when when I'm home I dread sitting down to draw. Out of time to make it happen. Old art

Watched the Macross Frontier movies I never tend to get too into these alt-timeline movies, but I appreciate that it was a pretty different set of events from the show. It was more like going down a different route in a visual novel than a retelling. Only Delta remains, and I've seen mixed opinions.

Finished Macross Frontier. Loved it for the most part. Ep25 is one big Hype Moment™, and it's easy to get caught up in the energy of it, but when I stop and think about it, I think it needed another 2/3 eps. Lots of things come out of nowhere near the end. Guess I'll watch the alt-timeline movies.

Sketch speed test, messed it up. Near 40 minutes isn't great considering how much I skipped to get to that time. In a way it's the best time I could reasonable do, though, which is bad. Is it too detailed? Any less and I find it unreadable and the lineart takes way longer. Repost to add the text.

Noelle (OC) - 2.5hrs~ Don't know why I'm bothering. Freehanded the bg because it wouldn't look good regardless so whatever. None of it went well, tbh. Lots of things going on right now, none of them good. Not sure how much longer I'm going be sticking around for, but I feel (HOPE) it's almost over.

Can't get myself to draw. I can think of things to do, but it feels more pointless by the day. I don't know if my job interview went well. The manager never did them before and barely asked anything. I kind of hope I don't get it since I'd have to work mornings and that's just not happening. Old pic

On Macross Frontier now. I planned to watch 1 episode last night and did 7 instead. There's actually relevant things happening early on in the series, I can barely believe it. I didn't remember a lot of the songs from back in the day, but it's all coming back to me as I hear them. It's good.

Finished Macross Zero Pretty different from the others, melancholic and not much music focus. I'm not sure what to rate it, I liked it in the end, lots of good moments, but it never fully grabbed me. A bit too short. End of the 2D mechs era, sad to see. The battles looked MUCH worse in CGI.

Posted new art on my nsfw account, but art's likely going to be slower for a while. Job interview tomorrow, don't want to go but I (probably) will, and the result of that will kind of decide how much it's going to slow down.

Finished all the Macross 7 shows. Back half of the main show was great, I want to give it an 8 but the first half was WAY too slow. Macross Zero next. Love the songs, I doubt the other series will beat it out on that front. All good, but my favs: My Soul for You Light the Light Holy Lonely Night

Been a while since I did one of these. It's less that things got better and more that I stopped doing anything. Planned to be more vague, but I just kind of let it fly in the end. There's really just nothing good at all. Couple things I didn't have room to add, but the last paragraph covers it best.

Over halfway through Macross 7. I like it, but it has no business being 49 episodes long. It feels like it just started in ep23 or 24. A lot of meandering in the first half. Ep 27 went hard as hell though. If it can keep even a bit of that up I'll end up loving it.

Page practice - 6hrs~ It's ok and readable. Not great with bg's, using a perspective ruler takes too long to set up so I just freehand the sketch and hope it looks decent. Despite going well I'm still not feeling drawing. I find it very exhausting, lineart phase was also VERY slow which didn't help.

Playing The Hunter: Call of the Wild (Bit of a long name) Figured that if I like Ultimate Fishing Simulator and Elite Dangerous I'd probably like this as well. I do, it's good fun. Been in a bison mood lately so I wanted to get one. Guess I'm taking the weekend off drawing. Idk what to do. Sorry.

Finished Shipbreaker. Good game, but I wish the story wasn't there since the character writing was rough (Voice acting was great). Feeling weird about art. It's turning out well but I can't make myself do it, my mind tries to think about anything except drawing. Really gotta force myself to do it.

Thought maybe lining it would make it look better. It definitely did but I have a hard time making clothes look loose, they always look like plastic sheets if that makes any sense. It's workable to start I suppose. Placeholder name, though I like Schreiber for the surname so that's probably staying.

Concept sketch Clothing issues haven't improved. Ref or no, it always looks flat. Never been able to figure it out no matter how much I try, videos and tutorials don't help. At some point I'm going to have to do a ton of military outfits, so I'd like to be able to do one (1) decently to start...

New friend Went to the town farmer's market. Not as many stalls because it's Canada Day, but this one had a lady sitting in a chair making plushies all day. Picked up this spider, might get an octopus next time if she's there. Have some drawing ideas but taking a couple days off (unintentionally).

Hanna outfit sketch. Don't know if I'll finish it, something looks off about it but I can't figure it out. She needs more outfits though, so I'm keeping it for later. Trying to get into a mindset of not having to post a pic every day, but not doing a great job of it. Also look at my fat bison plush.
