Went to check out the billionaire's social media network. Got hit with a misogyny joke from someone I didn't follow as my first post. Second post was a thread about how anyone protesting should either be shot or placed into labor camps. Third post was this interaction

Being a programmer right now is a very weird time. I often wonder these days if this is what it was like to know computing in 1996, or 1986, or 1976. There was a big cycle from 2008-2019ish where "software engineering" became FAANG-ified. "Learn to Code" etc. Are we just going back to "normal"?

The year is 2030. Advertisers are paying min wage to anyone who can stitch 30 individual frames of 2000-2010 (nostalgic for the target demographic) era memes into a single second with a gig app. One frame is a Tide logo, satisfying shareholders. All involved are actually bots. The Internet is dead.

I think it’s bad that the social internet has been reduced to short clips of the full version of things, and creatives will suffer even more because of this demand.

With great effort today I have mustered the courage to believe in the grand future. My conviction is deep but my body is fickle. I find a good breakfast, coffee, and some meditation to bring out the good. Days where I neglect myself and those I care about, are the ones I feel the world is ending.

When people argue about whether or not AI belongs in schools, it's very easy to forget how meaningful a good connection between student and teacher can be. I still remember my favorite teachers who inspired me. Can our students today say the same?

Unrelated to the post's content, but it saddens me that this thread is not actually very long, and yet we feel we must include conventions like "Pull up a seat" and "(cont)" because of an arbitrary character limit. One of the weaker parts of Bluesky's design, IMO. A separate post category maybe?

⚠️WOKE CONTENT⚠️™️ 🧵 Meet Jackie Ormes, the first Black American woman to have a nationally syndicated comic strip. She used her platform to reshape the image of Black women in American media. Pull up a seat, my friends.🪑(cont) #ProudBlue #ResistanceRoots #USDemocracy #Voices4Victory

When I was a teenager I bought a Team Edward shirt with Edward Snowden's face on it. I paid 6$. There is something particularly MAGA-esque to me about blending tech and politics but rather than whistleblowers, we place billionaires on merch.

Wall Street Journal article titled "Do I Look Like a Nerd in This Shirt? Mission Accomplished." Also depicts a T-shirt with Alex Karp's face on it captioned "Team Karp"

Found an account that is clearly fake and designed to ragebait normal people into...liking Trump, I guess? Literally no human on earth would believe this AI slop is real, and it looks like the fever dream of an aspiring conservative pundit to me. Can't wait for someone to claim it's "parody".

An account with handle @ skinnycookie .bsky .social with an AI generated profile picture, AI generated "before and after" pictures of a white guy who is skinny in 2025 with a white guy who's fat in 2026, and a bio that betrays the agenda. It is as follows:

"FUCK TRUMP! | Used to play volleyball and soccer! Now, I love weed and playing video games, going to parties and raves, and sun bathing in a nice small blue speedo 🌈🏳️‍🌈. Parents buy me what ever I want lol (23 years old)"

I am growing more concerned that one day the open web will need to fight for its own existence, and the safety of all us, in the warmongering world currently ruled by the out of touch in antiquated fashion.
