Watching Serpico for the first time. I gotta say I was unprepared for the sheer number of goofy hats.

I’m listening to this game on the radio as I grill and they were talking about who becomes the everyday cf now that Varsho’s gone and I think I just heard them say “you have to give Yogendrick Piñango a chance.” Um. In centre? I don’t think so.
I’m most surprised that Springer’s still here. I mean, love him forever, but I assume he’s outta here next season, so thought they’d ship him out for prospects or cash. Guess not.
Jays are done Scherzer, Springer, Straw etc. all stay
Might be unpopular, but I liked Hoffman. He had some bad moments, but that’s inevitable, and I blame the deployment mistakes more than the pitching itself. He did what he was asked to do time and again without complaint.
Me: I have Monday off! Can’t wait to have a relaxing day where I don’t work! Maybe I’ll have a beach day! Also me: I can’t leave the house because baseball is making me anxious.
The front office getting Soriano not even 24 hours after trading Gausman feels like when your parents try to convince you that it’s ok that your beloved hamster died by getting you a goldfish.
Fast and the Furious marathon. I just watched the Rock flex a cast off his arm. Now, we go to Havana.
Am I the only one who spends the night before a 50/50 draw thinking about how I’m going to spend it all? Immediate far-flung vacation, season tickets, pay off some family debts, buy a house and an impractical muscle car.
When I win the 50/50 tomorrow, I’ll buy tickets to see Gausman in Chicago. At least it’s a team I don’t hate.

Gausman to Cubs. Excuse me as I go sob.

Last repost: YES! There ARE no trans women in the WNBA. As ALWAYS, this is about making an environment so hostile that they know they’ll NEVER be welcome. Not on the court, in the stands, on the bench, in the front office, at half-time, in the media, etc.
The WNBA has never had a trans woman play in the league’s 30-year history and now the right and other anti-trans activists are hammering the league over something that has never been an issue, proving once again it isn’t about protection but exhibiting cruelty toward trans people.
As usual, Katie Heindl @wtevs.bsky.social of Basketball Feelings perfectly sums up how *I* felt at my first Tempo game (which they also lost) and how it feels to watch the league as this fraught moment threatens to ruin the fun. www.basketballfeelings.com/p/having-fun...
Having fun, losing
The generosity of space created by the Tempo, Sophie Cunningham's anti-trans fans joyriding the W's momentum, and knowing when to eye-roll hate or shout it down.

“John Schneider wants to look his pitcher in the eye.” Which one do you look at, do you think? The blue or the brown?
In the cold hard light of day, I still hate the Dodgers, the Yankees of the national league, so I’ll never be like “you’ve got to hand it to them.” Remember, they came VERY close to losing to the Jays. Yes, Toronto also pays a lot, but there were journeymen players who embarrassed them last season.
Sportsnet showing college photos of Max Scherzer, who has apparently ALWAYS looked like an angry peepaw. I like it very much.
Clearing the benches over a bunt after you’ve won the game is king shit stuff. I kinda love it.
Kenley Jansen took issue with Jeff McNeil bunting with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. McNeil couldn't believe it.
It would be really, really funny if the Jays traded nobody, wormed their way into a wildcard, discovered all their weaknesses were actually strengths and beat the Dodgers in the World Series like that episode of 30 Rock where the gang drinks the Teamsters under the table to get Liz her sub.
I feel like the issue with the Dodgers getting Skubal has less to do with a need for a salary cap or anything else and more to do with it being boring. Everyone knew that’s where he’d end up. Sports are more fun when there are surprises. This is just uninspired script writing.
I propose a salary cap for the Dodgers and nobody else.
An emotional win! Of all the giveaway jerseys they’ve done that I’ve missed, Gaus’s splitter is my fave. I was in my feels when he patted his heart. Total class act.
Nice day for a ball game! PERFECT view of the mound! Jays fans, y’all BETTER be cheering on Gausman with me today!
I’m sure there will be MLB trades involving Toronto, but I’ve got tickets to Saturday’s game and I sure would love to see Gausman pitch one more time in a Jays’ uniform so zip it, Ross!
