On this day in 1912, the first Keystone Cops film, Hoffmeyer's Legacy, was released. The series of comedies, created by Canadian director Mack Sennett revolutionized film comedy. Actors who appeared in the films included Charlie Chaplin and Canadian Marie Dressler.
