seeing someone essentially say artists should be absolved of personally accountability "because capitalism" made me feel crazy like they should get to hop on trends profiting off another artist's work uncredited because "capitalism is evil so this is necessary"
thinking about the popularity of so many "redraw trends" and plagiarism of compositions by all sorts of artists (it comes up often for gposing but 2D artists do it too). i have to sum up my discomfort with it as follows: it's artists treating other artists the same way A/I treats art as data
I like drawing trends like "draw this in your style" type stuff but I have seen the shift from homage to now noticing every random illustration I see in the wild that im impressed by in terms of composition or idea will have been an uncredited redraw

Some people survive off fucking MAILING LISTS somehow. Reach is only useful if it reaches something you want. Views only matter if they're meaningful.
