A collection of my very own good and bad opinions. (She/her)

Doing annual performance evaluations and anyone ranked a 1,2,or 5 gets reviewed by 3 additional layers of leadership. 🫠 The rating of 5 is "exceptional" and translates to "this employee puts their job before everything else"

People think I'm weird that I was not moved in any way by The Odyssey. It was entertaining. I have no complaints. It didn't make me feel anything though.

I've been following updates about a mildly famous eagle that is very sick. People are losing their shit on Facebook because they feel entitled to more details and specifics of the eagle's condition. We need HIPAA for eagles out here.

I try to maintain some level of relationship with my mother but it is exhausting. We are in a cycle where she sends texts during my workday to whine that we don't talk. I ask if she can talk on the weekend. She says yes. I call when agreed upon. She doesn't answer. Repeat.

Read a lot of good books in July. The Calamity Club was my favorite of the bunch. I'll be thinking about the women in that book for a long time. 💙

Book covers
Kin - Tayari Jones
Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead- Olga Tokarczuk
Dominion - Addie E Citchens
Whidbey - T Kira Madden
Everyone is Lying to You - Jo Piazza
the Calamity Club - Kathryn Stockett

One of my favorite characters in the book I'm reading is a 13 year old who frequently comments that men are slow learners. It makes me laugh out loud every single time.
