Jax is a cautionary tale on the what can happen if you refuse to help yourself or let anyone help you. Goose's trans art for jax symbolises to me that you can be accepted and happy, but only if you allow yourself to be. TLDR: Queer characters are allowed to be messy and flawed and have trauma.

Abstraction isn’t necessarily a 1:1 allegory for death by suicide so much as it’s like losing oneself in any kind of mental health spiral, including addiction. How everyone visits Jax and the other abstractions also reminds me of visiting a loved one in long-term care or inpatient treatment.
