An old man repeatedly saying “young beautiful girls” is a sentence that should make everybody’s skin crawl.

Kapital is winning it really is as #simple as that #Labour can organize and #Labour can be #politically active to #resist this trend
The decline in labor’s share isn’t just an American story. Workers across industrialized countries are getting a smaller share of the economic pie. Technology and the rise of superstar firms may help explain why. https://newsletter.platypuseconomics.com/p/if-ai-does-your-job-who-gets-paid
I have a $10 camera that notifies me if there is any movement.
It took thieves less than three minutes, police said, to make off with three artworks by Cézanne, Renoir and Matisse worth millions of dollars during a heist in March. Ultimately it's the "indies" that are important
Fox finds Trump's favorability ratings absolutely cratering in states he won: Ohio -14 Texas -9 Iowa -13 NC -19 Folks, in several of these states he’s at least 50 points underwater with independents. I'm not kidding. It's that bad. newrepublic.com/article/2143...
I am strongy opposed to this. The default option should have Gemini turned off. For select activities it can be turned on.

On the one hand I agree with Chris but on the other hand let's be totally #Honest with ourselves if the "Discourse" was getting more #PageViews from reporting on the murderous actions of U.S. military on unknown and unverified small vessels in the ocean, then they would give more of a "shit"
I’m on vacation but I gotta say, as much fun as it is to debate woke1 and Hasan Piker, the Trump administration is currently engaged in mass murder on the high seas as surely as any serial killer or lynch mob. And viewed from the distance of vacation, The Discourse doesn’t seem to give a shit.
An interesting randomized controlled trial of guaranteed income. Authors conclude with a peculiar framing: "Overall, our results suggest a moderate labor supply effect that does not appear offset by other productive activities." #EconSky The basic goal of guaranteed income to low income is

It is quite #simple
All else being equal even a simple increase in the mean of the temperature distribution will lead to extreme heat above a particular threshold that's more frequent, more intense, lasts longer and covers a wider area (you'll have to imagine that third dimension).

#RecipeOfTheDay comes in cocktail form today with a drink of Prosecco and strawberries that I call a Fragonard, but you may know as a Rossini. It’s the taste of lyrical, wide-skied, blossom-scented summer, hence my (re)naming of it. www.nigella.com/recipes/frag...

Internal incoherence is a fundamental problem with LLMs that is major challenge to overcome. Do you know what is #Honest and coherent that's rite a deterministic #Python program.
This suggests a form of internal incoherence which enables goal-biased beliefs. This risk also motivates our Scientist AI approach at @law-zero.bsky.social, where honesty and internal coherence of beliefs are central to the training process.
This is a warning to any teacher before they perhaps unjustly accuse a student of using AI based on Pangram.
Pangram is excellent at detecting 100% AI generated "slop" but its accuracy is much much much lower for mixed AI-assisted or perhaps more accurately Hu-man editted "slop". In other words if it says "80% AI generated" you #actually have no idea.
Pangram is surprisingly good. Teachers and graders should check it out. (And journal editors .) www.pangram.com
