The Chancellor could hold a press conference to say she cannot appoint someone to an ‘office of profit’ when there is so little transparency about their current finances. Let the current investigations conclude, and he can resign (again) – if he hasn’t first been disqualified.

The Chancellor has the power to stop Farage's cynical ploy. I've written to her this morning urging her to act. Farage should not be allowed to resign until the investigation into his dodgy dealings has concluded. The people of Clacton deserve the facts first.

The Green Party say they will not stand in the Clacton by-election either. Zack Polanski: "This is a desperate stunt from a desperate politician whose lifetime of grifting is finally catching up with him. Greens will play no part in his political circus"

I’m not a proportional representation nut but it is worth noting today that the only prime minister recently to last a full electoral term headed a two party coalition government Objectively, the first-past-the-post gives you stability and strong government argument has gone out the window

Andy Burnham wins Makerfield with a 20% lead over Reform UK. But this result wasn't just about Burnham. It was shored up by thousands of Green and Lib Dem voters who crossed party lines to keep the far-right out, delivering the Labour candidate an outright majority.🧵

Once I had the idea that Chris Mason is doing Starmer's daily horoscope, I could not unhave it. Have a listen with that thought in your head. In terms of pacing, writing, and tone, it could not be more perfect.

Over half a million people visited StopReformUK.vote in the run up to the 7th May elections – proof that people are seeking advice on how to vote tactically, putting the greater good ahead of their own party loyalties. Thank you to everyone who voted tactically to stop Reform! (or the Tories)

Reform could gain another MP this Thursday. That's why we're urging Labour, Lib Dem, & other party supporters to lend their vote to the Greens this time in Gorton & Denton. We've carried out extensive research and it points to this being our best chance of stopping a very real threat from Reform.

I want to read this book and for it to reach all the communities who need it. If you want to keep the hard right out of UK government, and see PR in our lifetimes, this could be a critical resource. Please support the crowdfunder and be part of making it happen.

Please support this if you can. Absent PR, some constituencies without a clear tactical vote will need primaries to ensure Reform UK are kept out. This is the How-to book... www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/the-people...
