Black and white photo of the façade of a three story structure. The façade - constructed in the Baroque style - is composed of finely dressed stone with stucco infill. At its base, it features a trio of arched entryways, each enclosing a pair of doors topped by an elaborate transom. Above the central entryway is a balustraded balcony and, directly above that, there is a large escutcheon flanked by supporting figures and surmounted by a crown. Multi-paned windows are set into the second and third stories to either side of the balcony.

Ich versuche es seit Jahren, und nun ist es mir dank des fast wolkenfreien Wetters zum ersten Mal gelungen, an vier aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen die untergehende Sonne exakt hinter dem Fernsehturm Mannheim zu fotografieren.

Collage von vier Aufnahmen, bei denen die untergehende Sonnenscheibe jeweils am Horizont mittig hinter dem Fernsehturm Mannheim zu sehen ist. Sie steht links bereits halb unter dem Horizont bei leichter Schleierbewölkung, daneben berührt sie gerade den Horizont, bei Bild 3 steht sie ein gutes Stück darüber, so dass nur die obere Hälfte des Turms als Silhouette in der Mitte der gelbroten Sonne steht. Ganz rechts ist schon nur noch die Spitze des Turms vor der Sonnenscheibe, weil sie bereits so hoch über dem Horizont steht. Je näher wir von links nach rechts der Sommersonnenwende kommen, desto weiter nördlich und damit desto später geht die Sonne unter, das heißt, sie steht von Tag zu Tag höher hinter dem Turm.
