Aspiring writer, I write words about board games and war games, mostly for Tabletop Battles. Blog: https://allownofun.blogspot.com/ He/Him

Me and my friends meeting up to play board games this weekend and ended up with 5 people attending. We were looking for a mid-to-heavy euro and there are plenty that play 5, but do they play 5 well? Most euros don’t.

Played some games recently, here's my review of them: Bottle Imp: One of my favourite trick-takers. Cat in the Box: One of my favourite trick-takers. Ghosts of Christmas: One of my favourite trick-takers. The Fellowship of the Rings: Trick Taking Game: One of my favourite trick-takers.

Going to be playing Hood Strikes North tomorrow, so look forward to a couple of pictures of it! Still in love with GCACW, it's such a good series.

Rewatched the entire LOTR extended edition and it mostly holds up, although I think Fellowship is still the best films and the latter films have some very dubious creative choices. It also doesn't help that my mind has been poisoned bycountless LOTR memes.

It kind of annoys me sometimes that it took me 20 years to come up with an idea for a world and story. It's been a fun exercise so far though.

Managed to play through most of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers: Trick-Taking Game and the last few chapters are incredible. The second to last one could almost be a game in itself considering how interesting it is to wrestle the puzzle it presents. Absolutely stellar game.
