Away and missing my cat but sending “send me kitty pics” to my wife might be taken the wrong way

Wrote some words (more of an essay this time) on my Holy Grail game, Napoleon’s Triumph. It’s truly an art piece: www.tabletopbattles.com/hextoricals-... #wargames

Keep looking at my writing and thinking “it’s shit”. Need to build past the self-doubt but it’s hard going.
Me and my friends meeting up to play board games this weekend and ended up with 5 people attending. We were looking for a mid-to-heavy euro and there are plenty that play 5, but do they play 5 well? Most euros don’t.
Some games of BattleCON today, think it’s unparalleled in terms of fighting card games
It’s kind of wild that the very first season of Stargate SG1 has a clips episode
Wrote a review for Hubris by @gmtgames.bsky.social! An unusual game but I liked it a lot and I hope that other games like this one are published in the future. #wargames www.tabletopbattles.com/hextoricals-...
Hextoricals: Hubris - Twilight of the Hellenistic World 220-165 BCE
This week in Hextoricals, Tekopo looks at Hubris -Twilight of the Hellenistic World, a very complicated narrative-driven game centered around the Alexandrian succession states.

Played through 10 turns of Hood Strikes North as the Union and enjoyed it a lot. I managed to reach the Duck river but had to abandon the line due to flank marches, and we had a showdown just before Franklin! Enjoyed it a lot! #GCACW #wargames @multimanpublishing.bsky.social
Hood is striking north tomorrow! Should be an interesting game, really want to see how well a one mapper plays with the campaign scenario! #wargames #GCACW @multimanpublishing.bsky.social
We present our second play of 'Battle for the Gaps', as we head north on the Roads to Gettysburg next week! Enjoy this with our compliments. #GCACW @multimanpublishing.bsky.social youtu.be/rWkM1erdDDQ

Just a note for folks who might be interested in Rebels Against Rebellion. I've started a design diary where I do some deep diving into the game's origin story. @trevormbenjamin.bsky.social @kwanchai.bsky.social boardgamegeek.com/thread/37152...
Played some games recently, here's my review of them: Bottle Imp: One of my favourite trick-takers. Cat in the Box: One of my favourite trick-takers. Ghosts of Christmas: One of my favourite trick-takers. The Fellowship of the Rings: Trick Taking Game: One of my favourite trick-takers.

Got up to this today. Walking long distances really helped me post-COVID.
I've been on a trick-taker kick lately, although most of them have the dreaded "with a twist!" added at the end.
New series overview, this time for the Operational Combat Series by @multimanpublishing.bsky.social, which really was one of the series that really managed to make me dive deep into the genre. Give it a read! #boardgames #wargames www.tabletopbattles.com/hextoricals-...

Going to be playing Hood Strikes North tomorrow, so look forward to a couple of pictures of it! Still in love with GCACW, it's such a good series.
Rewatched the entire LOTR extended edition and it mostly holds up, although I think Fellowship is still the best films and the latter films have some very dubious creative choices. It also doesn't help that my mind has been poisoned bycountless LOTR memes.
Issue 23 is out now! Featuring @danthurot.bsky.social’s investigation into board-gaming’s most ancient and controversial mechanism: roll-and-move. Go to senetmagazine.com to order your copy or subscribe, or find us at the UK Games Expo at stand 3-625! #boardgamesarebeautiful
It kind of annoys me sometimes that it took me 20 years to come up with an idea for a world and story. It's been a fun exercise so far though.
About 20% done on my first draft, and I'm starting to understand why people get writer's block
Played Through the Ages by @czechgames.com last weekend and had someone actually resign at the start of age III: the resign rule is a weird but interesting piece of game design, and is necessary considering how brutal the game can be. #boardgames
Was gonna attend UKGE but I don’t want to deal with rail replacement buses or a 2.5 hour roundabout trip. Shame.
Last Turn of our game of @multimanpublishing.bsky.social GCACW The Crater scenario of The Petersburg Campaign. I tried to assault New Market but failed, but I remained in Richmond and tried to rack up VPs by eliminating CSA manpower points. Solid Union Victory in the end. Thanks Marco!
Managed to play through most of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers: Trick-Taking Game and the last few chapters are incredible. The second to last one could almost be a game in itself considering how interesting it is to wrestle the puzzle it presents. Absolutely stellar game.
