for day 6, a snip from my modern haarvolke au in which there's a building to keep watch over and a hungry ghost lurking in the halls. the ghost really wants leftover chinese takeout. volke really wants his coworker. his coworker really wants to not fuck this up. #TelliusRarepairWeek2026 #tellius

fiction excerpt: That evening had Volke freshly showered and dressed back in the same jeans as before, but a clean v-neck and a flannel and over all of that, that same jacket. And workboots. Always those. He wasn't going to waste the time going home to change. Haar sat on the bench outside, looking awkward and cold. "You're early," Volke said, stopping in front of him. Haar rose, and then stalled. He'd definitely been about to hug him. "Uh," Haar said, pushing his hands into his jacket pockets, as though to keep them from doing anything else stupid, "yeah. Trying." Volke swallowed. He was supposed to say something. "Thanks…" he mumbled out. "Yeah. Thanks." Volke took the place in, the clean, bright teacups and flowers and patisserie painted on the windows. It was far too cute. He was also salivating at it, cuteness be damned. "Yeah… thanks," he said, more distantly. Fondly.
