Road trips. In odd, unexpected cars of dubious reliability, usually decades old, often British. They run at the start of the trip. What could possibly go wrong? YT: https://www.youtube.com/c/TemptingFateTou IG: https://www.instagram.com/temptingfatetours/

A very nice article, if a tad overwritten. Author Tyler Roland is 24 years old. Gives us hope for a new generation. The observation that social-media influencers ignore cars of this era + type is right on the money. Perhaps a very good thing.

Duesenbergs were the hypercars of their day. More teens and twenty-somethings ought to care about these prewar classics.

We can't be the ONLY people in the world wondering if anyone has a Suzuki with the vanity plate 'KISSY' ... can we? Neither Google nor its AI has a single mention or image (DMV records are private + unsearchable). But KISSY wasn't available in half a dozen states we tried. Invalid character ??

We drive lots of different stuff here. Now Scott has added a vintage RV (!!) to our decrepit British cars, aging Japanese econoboxes + the occasional 95-year-old Model A woody wagon. This video introduces his 1991 Winnebago Warrior, built on a Toyota 1-ton chassis ... and its engine (*NOT* a 22RE).

When Chaz told us his Stylus stumbled under load, the brain trust promptly got it up on stands. They found + fixed several problems. But it still stumbled on full throttle. Maybe it was the fuel pump? But he did NOT expect Aamir to get out his grinder + carefully start cutting into his floorpan ...

Chaz said his car stumbled. He DIDN'T expect this! #carrepair #oldcars #roadtrip #isuzu #isuzugemini

This one's a twofer: for both obscure-car fans AND pretty much anyone who lived in NYC during the '80s or '90s and had access to cable TV. The Robin Byrd documentary 'Bang My Box' is wonderful. The NYC folks, especially Teh Ghez, will likely remember it all.

Silver Renault 5 Le Car 4-door with cloth rollback sunroof parked at a curb in NYC, shot from right front. Its yellow-and-blue New York state personalized license plate on the front is "970-BYRD". Behind it is a maroon Chevy Citation; a Ford LTD yellow taxi cab is passing behind it in the other direction, with a black-and-white NYPD sedan in the next lane over from it.

OK, what do you think? IS a classic SUV the new accessory for a "hot girl"? This piece was written by a NYC reporter who focuses on "the lifestyles of the affluent + influential. Her reporting has explored the weddings of the .01%, the shopping habits of tweens + social conflict in Nantucket." Oh.

The Expensive Accessory Every ‘Hot Girl’ Wants: An Old, Loud SUV

The market for vintage Broncos and Land Rovers is booming, fueled by women willing to spend north of $100,000 for “junk on wheels.”

A few of us have been here multiple times, so we might have focused on different cars. But it remains a fascinating place, including dozens of prototypes for cars the dying Brit industry never had the funds, the gumption, or the will to build. In that respect, it's sad. But what a visit. (1 of 2)

Polishing up our transport for the weekend before venturing into The Smoke, then back out to a castle. What? Well of COURSE it's a Morris Minor. What else would it be? (Aside from a Riley, or Lagonda, or Mini Metro, or MGB-GT, or Alvis Graber, or... wait, we haven't mentioned the Graber, have we?)

Turquoise 1956 Morris Minor 4-door saloon, registration 656 BPK, from the rear inside a large open garage bay with open door at the rear, shelf of tools next to that, and electric buffer on the floor.

Wonderful piece on Zach Merrill + his brother Tim, and the Bugeye Sprite (for Brits: Frogeye) they've owned since 1971. Wonderful restoration with lots of BMC period upgrades. Even redid a 1275 to resemble the original 948 wherever possible. Plus, we know Zach for his Minor via friends. A hero.
