Republicans in one of Texas’ most competitive and populous counties are pushing a plan to close 140 election day polling places. This is blatant voter suppression, and 1.3M registered voters in Tarrant County will be impacted if Republicans on the commissioners court get their way.

11 years ago today Ken Paxton was booked at the Collin County Jail. Paxton was charged with allegedly scamming his own friends by convincing them to invest in a sinking tech company without revealing he was making a commission on their investments.

Seven years ago today, the community of El Paso experienced an unimaginable tragedy when a racist act of hate claimed the lives of 23 innocent people and forever changed countless others. Today, we remember the victims, and honor the strength of the survivors and their families.

NEW: Under Greg Abbott’s watch, Texas has more residents facing food insecurity than any other state– for the third year in a row. Texas had a $24B budget surplus last year, and Republicans are letting millions of Texans go hungry.

The Pentagon just removed Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, Lt. Tyler James Feehan, Sgt. Angel Rampersad, & Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton from the Iran War death toll. They should be honored for their sacrifice, yet they're being erased to downplay the true number of Iran War casualties. It's despicable.

Today, we mourn the loss of Pvt. Isabella Gonzales. She is one of 17 Americans who have lost their lives in the war with Iran. We must honor their legacies by fighting for a country that rejects endless wars, and will never again send our service members into danger without a clear path home.

Image of Isabella Gonzalez with the title: "Rest in Peace Isabella Gonzalez," and the caption: "Private Gonzalez of Carrolton is one of 17 service members-and the first Texan-killed in the war with Iran."

The House just passed another bipartisan War Powers Resolution to put this reckless president in check. Our servicemembers should never be put in harm’s way because Trump decided to ignore the Constitution. Now, the Senate needs to step up and put an end to this war before more lives are lost.

Ken Paxton just ran away from a press conference because reporters started asking questions he didn't like. If he can’t even answer basic questions about where he votes and his 15 properties, Texans can’t trust him to be honest or transparent about anything.
