The repository has a new project! 🥳 "The Story and Proverbs of Ahiqar the Wise", with text in Arabic, Syriac and other languages, as well as many digitisations. textgridrep.org/project/TGPR...

We have been working on a new browser-based GUI to publish data in TGR. We haven't presented it anywhere yet. We are looking for corpora/editions/collections to test it (currently only TEI-files, no images) or people who want to test it themselves. Let us know if your are interested!

One of the major changes we have made to the TextGrid Repository in recent years is that people who want to publish their data no longer need to understand TGR's (very) complex metadata model.

#BiblioCon (largest library conference in the German-speaking area) takes place in Berlin this week. Today, there there is a talk about translating the Basic Classification into English. The TextGrid Repository contributed to it by presenting a clear use case, given that the platform is bilingual.

What if a project doesn't have TEI, but only plain text? This was the case for the Lu Xun Corpus, with Chinese literature. For that, we created a basic TEI version with metadata and published it in the repository. Lading-page of the project: textgridrep.org/project/TGPR...

In the TextGrid Repository, not only do collections (folders) get a persistent identifier (PID) (HANDLE ID), but actually all documents get a PID: each XML-TEI document, each image, each XSLT transformation stylesheet, etc. This improves the identification of the data and makes it easier to cite.

A important project that was imported last year: GRETIL (Göttingen Register of Electronic Texts in Indian Languages), a corpus of Sanskrit, Tamil and other Indian language texts. It is annotated with GND entities and Basic Classification. - Landing page: textgridrep.org/project/TGPR...
