For the first time, the World Cup final four teams includes only the top 4 teams in FIFA world rankings (1+2+3+4). The combined ranks of the last four teams couldn't be lower (10). In the past, the four last teams have always added up to over 25. HT @chartycharts
This month I'm running a @desmos.com Notebook challenge to make the best explainer in the new Notebook feature. More details here: youtu.be/x0MYr66AAwM #desmos #math #science #iteachscience #iteachmath

Why yes, I did make a World Cup bracket and group tracker in @desmos.com Notebook. www.desmos.com/notebook/xhh... #worldcup #iteachmath #desmos

I’m excited to represent @desmos.com at the @nctm.org #NCTMINDY26 Spring Conference, February 11-13, in Indianapolis! It's always a pleasure to talk math with educators, and I get the added bonus of sharing about Desmos & the power of dynamic geometry software. nctm.org/indianapolis2026 #iteachmath
Look like you missed your graph lesson again! #duolingo
One of the highlights of OCTM this past week was attending Mike Browne's session on "Introducing Students to Calculus" where he shared this delightful visual that he constructed of unwrapping the area of a circle into a triangle. #octmconnects #ohioctm
It was a great way to wrap up the @nctm.org Annual Meeting presenting on Geometry in @desmos.com. Looking forward to sharing again next week back in Ohio at OCTM! (For those curious, the slide in the picture was not about Geometry…we got off on a tangent looking at some example graphs)
Excited to head to Atlanta next week for the @nctm.org Annual Meeting! I'll be representing @desmos.com with a session on dynamic geometry software on Saturday. I’m putting together my agenda of sessions to attend — any recommendations? #iteachmath
#MathArt project in calculus class today. Students generated "Reimondrian" art in @desmos.com. (Inspired by @mathzorro.bsky.social). Reimondrian is a mash up of Reimann sums and Piet Mondrian art. Some very creative students. #ITeachMath #MathsToday
Loving these trippy geometric patterns, and couldn't resist recreating these delightful squircles in @desmos.com www.desmos.com/calculator/p...

[Updated Post] I'm not at #NCTMDC23 this year so instead I updated all of my 60s #geometry construction videos using @Desmos Geometry 2.0. Watch them here and have fun constructing your own: engaging-math.blogspot.com/p/desmos-geo... #Mathchat #MTBoS #iTeachMath #NCTM
Fun one to visualize in #Desmos #Geometry - Given a regular n-gon inscribed in a unit circle, the product of the chords from one vertex of the polygon to all the others is equal to n. www.desmos.com/geometry/pb3... Inspiration from this delightful poster: diffgeom.com/products/pro... #MathSky
A delightful Geometry theorem, illustrated using the #Desmos Geometry tool with visual shading and calculations showing the equivalent lengths. #🧮 www.desmos.com/geometry/bpn...
First post. Something shiny! Well, intriguing at least. The Broken Chord Theorem, attributed to Archimedes. D is the midpoint of the arc ABC. You then drop a perpendicular line onto the line AB, landing at E. Then AE = EB + BC. Good to try and prove without looking it up!
When using custom colors in #Desmos (@desmos.bsky.social), RGB felt straight-forward enough, but I didn't have a clear grasp on what each component of HSV did. Turns out that it's much easier to visualize in 3D. #🧮 #MathSky Graph: desmos.com/3d/180b54127d
Seeing lots of Desmos 3D discussion around surfaces of revolution for Calculus. While parametrics are great for showing the act of rotation (see: desmos.com/3d/1a7f86ac77), I'm also loving this strategy, accessible to students who have seen equations of circles before: desmos.com/3d/0439a67934
