Carol-Face-in-the-Crowd

I’m the face in the crowd no one sees. Liberal, progressive. Part-time sharer of frugal tips, and most of all, a negative optimist. I’m behind you in the grocery store. I’m a driver at an intersection. I am your neighbor. Get to know me.

Good Morning! I’m ready to go back to bed but if I can fortify myself with the “brew” wear a fabulous hat and look stunning, I’ll give being awake a fighting chance. Best wishes for the same with or without the hat. (It’s not for everyone.)

I believe the worst will probably happen but I still hope. Good people see what’s gone wrong. They understand what needs to be done. As the future unfolds, if we walk into the unknown with hope we have a chance. Without it we’ll lose everything.

Balancing the news of brutal facts, avoiding misinformation, keeping hope alive and sanity intact is a moment-to- moment Herculean task. I often fail. To regroup, I leave social media and engage in the comforting rituals of the mundane. Real life lies beyond a screen.

Our problems originate in economics not politics. Greed funds politicians who are motivated by $$$ and power and not ethics Rabid capitalism manipulates the masses to pour $$$ onto the already wealthy. That rabid capitalism destroyed democracy long before it became obvious.

The wealthy are THE enemy. Politics is a false front and support the increase of power. Republicans gaslight the masses and spread division to disable their biggest threat: the citizens uniting against them. Democrats while a much better alternative are still part of a system that has failed us.

Good morning! The problem is clear. We stare in the face of the enemy. We stay locked in its gaze. We’ve got to stop staring at the problem and do every reasonable thing possible to keep up our spirits and our hope alive. Swimming in the problem is pointless. It’s what they want.

Let’s all start ignoring recipe links that cause us to scroll into infinity while they explaining what every ingredient is fifty times while we play wack-a-mole with “x-ing” out the ads. If we all just stopped tolerating the insanity maybe, just maybe it would end. There are real cookbooks.

Irony: Our local food bank doesn't have a system for accepting food donations. Yes, I know a lot of people donate stuff that is inedible or so far past date as to be "antique food" but that's not all of it. Food banks would have to have volunteers or staff to handle influx. ???

If you understand the basics of how democracy and government works and are able to accept the reality of complex problems and situations, you forget that this is not true of everyone. You have to be knowledgeable enough to know that there's a lot you don't know. You have to be smart to learn.

This is Fenrir. He has not yet been successful in cuddling with the cat. But thinks if he goes slow enough she might not notice. 13/10 (IG: fenrirfanclub)

Dear Corporate America: I am not creating an online account for your benefit. Don't give me the convenience excuse. You've got my data to sell or "lend" and you often let it get breached. You cut costs by not have a physical bill but my costs have increased across the board. I've had it.

If pics of meat make you queasy LOOK AWAY! The price sticker makes me queasy. Consider that revenge. (I admire non-carnivores. Try not to judge those who of us who are weak and/or barbaric. I’m sure there’s a chink in your armor somewhere.) We can all agree that grocery prices are nuts!🥜 🐿️
