In the Waking Sands, most of the Scions are preparing for the Sultana's banquet in Ul'dah. Momo and Ishy are in dresses, chatting together. Y'shtola and Thancred are discussing matters in the background, while Urianger pretends to be reading in the foreground as he observes them all.

Day Five: You Tease (inadvertently)

The Scions had all gathered in the hall in the Waking Sands, abuzz with excitement over the Sultana's banquet. Preparations had been completed, and the bulk of them would be leaving for Ul'dah in the next bell. As he was not attending, Urianger had instead attempted to bury himself in his tome but the constant noise was inescapable. Endure this, he reminded himself as his eyes wandered through the crowd.

First they landed on Enkhtuya, that mischevious au ra who has a penchant for finding trouble. But wherever Enkhtuya was, Momo would not be far behind...

The miqo'te was sitting quietly, her back facing him as she listened to the au ra speak ceaselessly. They were in matching dresses, both due to leave with the group shortly. His eyes immediately latched on to the stripes decorating Momo's back. Her hair covered a section of them, but they were entrancing. It was the first time he had seen her outside of her normal modest clothes. Seeing her bare shoulders humanized her in ways he hadn't considered until this moment; she should have been a normal girl with a normal life. But she was not normal. Momo was shouldered with the burden of being called the warrior of light, of pressures and expectations she stumbled under.

At least for this evening, it would be a gathering of allies, food, drink, and discussions; no battles to be fought. Urianger's eyes lingered again on Momo's back as he watched everyone leave, their sounds of chatter echoing off the walls until all was quiet once more. He was left with his thoughts, conflicted and confused with his own fascination. Strange.

He had not seen a tease of them prior to this afternoon, but as they continued to work together in the coming years, he would continuously catching himself glancing to see if they peeked through her outfits. Momo had not noticed, bless the stars above, although a fellow Scion had.

Momo slowly walking away from Urianger at Porta Praetoria, her ears drooping and looking defeated as she walks away from Urianger, worried for her safety with an arm half-heartedly outstretched towards her but not stopping her. Both of them are aware of the tension between them but are too afraid to be honest with one another.

Day 3: Be Safe

The sounds of soldiers preparing for war would have been deafening if it wasn't for her own heart nearly beating out of her chest. Momo could not see his eyes but felt a weight with the way he was looking at her, or was she only imagining it? She wished she could ask Ishy, but the au ra was off doing her own preparations before the assault began.

Urianger opened his mouth, closed it, and then opened it again, but no words came out. To say that he was terrified for her safety was an understatement; the last time she had been near Zenos she had nearly died. How could he let her face him again? But he had no recourse, no reason of his own to hold her back. Nothing but words he couldn't say aloud. A colleague; naught more than...

Momo's ears slipped backwards in disappointment. She didn't know what to say either; the commanders had left them alone after their final meeting before beginning the siege, and though the tent was far from private, she wished she had the bravery to say or do anything.

"Wish me luck," she said with a half-hearted smile, giving the elezen a small bow before turning away. She wished that she had more to say, but the tension was too much for her. It reminded her of that time after Hydaelyn, after learning about Minfilia's fate... there was that desire to grab his hand or throw her arms around him, anything to chase after her own comfort and reassure him. But they were only colleagues, and she couldn't pass over that boundary that existed between them.

Twelve above, he did not want to watch her leave but there was no other choice. With a heavy swallow he finally responded, willing his words to be a spell of safety for her even if she may not hear them. "Prithee, be well. Be safe."

Urianger in the Bookman's Shelves, grimacing as his detailed memories of Momo, like the sound of her laughter, are beginning to fade. A ghostly figure of Momo hugs him, as if haunting him.

Day Two: I Miss You

Two years into being on the First and Urianger had still not grown accustomed to the constant Light. Previously he never had an admirable sleep schedule, but it had completely fallen apart in these lands; between the Light, the curious pixies, and the important research, there was never a simple time to rest.

He also feared to sleep; though the pixies swore they did not influence *his* dreams, they were still unsettling. The future that the Exarch saw haunted him, and his dreams ensured he would not forget what was at stake. Sharlayan, full of empty streets and strewn bodies, long dead. Eorzea, little left but rubble and the cries of hungry predators. The twins... fallen. And Momo.

He had done his best to not think of Momo too often since coming here, though he could not deny to himself that half the pull of staying in Il Mheg were the flower fields. He knew her face would light up if she could see them, dance in them, her infectious joy something he longed to see again; but she was not here. The more he thought about how long it had been since he had seen her face, heard her voice, even missed the way her breathing hitched as she cried, the more he realized that he could no longer recall her details.

"I miss thee," he mumbled to himself quietly, surrounded by tomes that could not provide him solace.

He had never been once to feel such a strong ache of homesickness, but the longer he was here on the First, with dreams more consistently becoming nightmares of the future he was afraid of, the more he wanted to return. He had to save the Source, Eorzea, but most importantly he had to find a way to save her.

Day One: Good Morning

It was rare for Urianger to be awake before Momo; normally she would already be up preparing breakfast, planning out her day, busying herself as he slept through the morning.

In truth, he hadn't slept much. The decision to marry had be as much indulgent as impulsive. The closest, and frankly only, example of marriage in his life came from Moenbryda's parents. He wasn't sure if he could live up to the standard they had set in his mind, but he was determined to do his best for Momo... his wife.

"Momo." He called to her softly to wake her, gently brushing strands of her hair from her face. "Fairest of mornings to mine dearest." She stirred slowly, the whimper giving him a hint of her drowsiness. He leaned closer, his smile apparent in his voice. "Thou musnt sleep the morning away, my beloved wife."

Urianger chuckled when he felt Momo's body tense up once she processed his words. "W-wait," she replied groggily. "Did I not.. dream that? It really happened yesterday?" The wedding had been such a blur for her, falling together so neatly it had felt like a dream. She felt her eyes water up, confusion and shock and joy flashing across her face before she buried her face in his chest.

"To many more blissful mornings together, beloved."

Has anyone else experienced their PC fans going crazy when playing XIV? It doesn't happen with any other game, and as soon as I close XIV the fans go back to normal and my PC is nice and quiet. I've tried adjusting graphical settings, I don't have any mods and I'm not sure what else to try.
