Flowers are Erigeron annuus which is native to North America and Central America. It is a herbaceous plant that grows between 50cm (1.64ft) to 100cm (3.28ft) tall, sometimes reaching up to 150 cm (4.92ft). The stems are upright and usually branched at the top.

In many parts of Europe, including Germany and Switzerland considered an invasive neophyte. It is classified as invasive because it can form dense populations and compete with native vegetation, particularly in semi-natural grasslands: produces many small wind-dispersed seeds, tolerates a wide range of soils, colonizes disturbed ground quickly and can behave as an annual or biennial plant.
