I'm in Edinburgh from <checks watch, panics> tomorrow and, as per previous years, am intending to do my (probably too) honest video diaries so why give my YouTube channel a little subscribe and watch a man physically deteriorate in real time over a month? www.youtube.com/@thatbaldyfe...

Nick Kirk

Nick says funny things with his mouth in order to provoke laugh sounds from the mouths of others. Seems fair. (Oh, and he used to make films with his mate Rich - they're here too)

Raiders of the Lost Ark came out in 1981, but was set in 1936 - a difference of 45 years. If they made the film today, the same time difference would mean it would be set in 1981.

Without saying your age, what's your favourite movie that came out when you were 18? About 5 I'd pick for that year (always struggle with "pick one") but, for making me want to be a filmmaker at that age, it's this one for the "DIY" feeling it inspired (along with Reservoir Dogs and El Mariachi)

Without saying your age, what's your favourite movie that came out when you were 18? I love this movie so much. Funny, brutal, brilliantly acted, constantly surprising, and full of classic Italian horror references.

I reckon more football fans should realise that they're just nerds. Know all the old cast members? Dress up in cosplay as your best characters? Sit around in the pub speculating with your mates about the next person in charge and how you'd do it better? Neeeerrrddssss! One of us, one of us...

An excellent summary of the current state of TV by someone who created a fave series of mine (The Middleman - if you're in any way nerdy, find it and watch it) and also wrote a couple of great candid books on TV too (Shoot That One & Shoot This One)

i believe that the the entire "binge watch" model of releasing television series is based on a faulty premise, and that faulty premise has significantly devaluated television as an art form. stick with me on this one...

Books Read 2026 Nos. 27-35 Seems fitting that around the Big Five Oh month that I covered off a few of the lifelong special interests (Henson, Pratchett, Who*) plus an alt history about queer cowboys herding hippos based on actual plan put forward by US Congress (sure, why not?) *weird law firm

I've brought you all here today to announce that I'm stopping performing as a character comedian... so that I can start performing as a character comedian. Please respect my privacy at this time and also pay attention to absolutely everything that I do.

What a pathetic little man. Sub-Alan Partridge self-pitying. "I've been sowing hate for 20 years, why won't anyone just love me? I'm going to America where everyone says I'm great"

Trying to resist the urge as a long, long term Who fan to say, “It’s OK, just wait 16 years and it’ll be back…” (Might finally have time to complete that full rewatch from 1963 to date that I started about 5 years ago)

Depressing times as the solidifying of Petty Little Bigot Island continues Trans people are not the problem. Underfunded public services, climate change, the rise of fascism and war are things to worry about You shouldn’t give a shit about who’s having a shit
