Here's the ref for the first of several new character ideas I've been brewing recently. This one is a cyclopean demon monster girl, whose gaze will transform those who meet it into chimeric monster girls. #transformation #monster_girl #monstergirl #mind_control

Bephony's gaze works on the idea of the eyes being windows to the soul, so the subject need not 'see' her, just meet her gaze. Once met, the subject's perception of the world around them becomes tunnel visioned, with the color palette changing to shades of red, think like a blood moon in fantasy, and they begin to hear drums and horns in their head. (Headcanon for the music would be something like a gallic carnyx horn and drums) The transformation then takes place, altering body into a chimeric blend of their original form and a monstrous form, usually based on creatures from various mythologies, although sometimes taking on something not quite fitting any one specific creature from lore. Their memories of their past self fade, becoming a blank slate to be written anew based on the instincts of their new monster selves. Those transformed by Bephony also then retain a sliver of her power, acting like an aura that slowly transforms the area they reside in, and those who linger too long near them, turning the later into lesser kin to the monster, and the area into a matching layer existing in a sort of pocket space. (For example, if the subject were an office worker who became a minotaur, the office itself, over several weeks, would turn into a labyrinth, perceived from the outside as an abandoned building people find they are compelled to otherwise ignore, and the other office staff trapped within with their former co-worker turn into lesser minotaur; smaller of body, physique, and horn.)
