Is it weird that I am seriously contemplating eliminating my entire collection of (cotton) socks to replace them with merino wool hiking socks? I actually have great socks for running in, that prevent blisters etc, but I think I need something else for every day because cotton socks are killing me

I love driving and have had points on my licence before. That is to say, I'm not perfect. But I really do think that we need to be tougher on driving offences. This is objectively outrageous and I don't actually understand how it's possible? It's such an easy win to just... Enforce the law??

My sister is coming to stay. Long story short I've explained how I air the flat by having the door open + fans but I need to take one fan with me to London (my room is 34°) She's insistent that she will use the air con unit I have despite me explaining no bc it's extremely expensive and inefficient

What's super weird in this is NONE of the numbers make sense. The couple earning just under £60k between them spent close to £1900 in one week. The couple on £197k spent £1730 in one week. The retired people on about £70k spent £2100 in one week. Wtf is going on???

I'm looking at pilgrimage routes in Wales and I found one that would be good, but there's a "map of the route" that is literally a trail line overlaid on a photo, like how is that supposed to help anyone to follow it?
I’ve seen a lot of my colleagues’ interactions with Claude working on research problems & it would be easier for me to accept it as a serious scientific tool if it didn’t end every single response with the LLM equivalent of “you want fries with that?” — constantly trying to goad you into asking more
Does anyone have an actually good way to prevent migraines? I can get rid of them when they get here but I always wait because the tradeoff is... 1) have migraine: in pain, can't focus, head hurts, neck hurts, teeth hurt, not v functional 2) no pain, feel like I've lost all braincells, can't focus
