Even as a fan of geeky shit, I never bought into the “sci-fi teaches a live of SCIENCE” evangelism because even the “hardest” sci-fi depending on leaps of faith which bent — if not broke — the physical laws or reality. It was all fantasy and allegory to me, never blueprints.

I think the biggest takeaway here is that the flacks and lobbyists and establishment goons threw a fuckton of cash and low blows and smears against a candidate who challenged their status quo and it still wasn’t enough. And this wasn’t NYC, but a swing state.
