I’ve been trying with new ways to learn coding through simple projects + AI. So far, this my fav workflow: 1. Read up on a framework 2. Chat with AI about any lingering misconceptions 3. Try building the functionality in a real project Actually helps a lot with active recall. Thoughts?

Ok so maybe electron isn't that bad if I start with a template instead of building everything from scratch... My last project had me spending hours just trying to get a simple test app running. Progress 📈

I’ve been experimenting with new ways to learn coding through simple projects and AI. I noticed that if you can exercise enough restraint trying to code a function, then have AI check your code for errors, you end up retaining a lot. Tedious but helpful.

Ok, so I’m currently on electron using a template for my project and everything is booting up flawlessly. There’s no way it’s actually this easy. My last project had me spending hours just trying to get a simple test app running…

How do people handle going long periods of time without touching code? Most syntax feels fuzzy in my brain, so I'm constantly asking AI or googling concepts that was second nature before. Feels like I've forgotten half of what I knew 🙃

Spent the past 5 months focused entirely on school and it feels like I’ve lost my touch with programming. Crazy how a few months can make it feel like you’ve forgotten so much 😭 Feels like I’m starting from scratch lmao

Recently, I've been exploring options to port my React app to desktop + mobile. There's Electron, but man... it takes so much effort to get anything to run 😭 Atm I'm trying out Tauri, and it's been surprisingly smooth so far. The file I/O system actually feels a lot like Qt

Quick progress update: - Cleaned up the menu layout - Further balanced the theme colors - Dimensions fields resize the canvas now Today was much lighter now that school has started up again. Might do progress updates like these more often. Keeps me motivated when days get tough 🔥

Today I’ve been experimenting with different file-saving techniques in React, and I’m noticing that browser filesystem access is very limited. Workflows like loading and saving files without creating duplicates feel pretty convoluted, if they’re possible at all...

For the past few weeks, I’ve been learning TypeScript, and now I genuinely can’t see why I’d code in JavaScript anymore 😆 It provides: - Type safety - Quality-of-life tools - Better structure for large codebases Are there any reasons you’d still choose JS over TS?

In my rhythm game, Rebirth, I’m introducing Double Tap Notes! Another new mechanic that shakes up the classic rhythm game style: Tap once to lock the note in place, and tap again when the judgment rectangle matches the note's size to score points! This one is definitely one of favs :P #gamedev

It turns out that when I started recording, I was using the wrong settings, so I'll have to redo and edit the majority of my voice clips :( So, I likely won't be able to release the video today after all, but I'm aiming to have it ready by Friday. Until then, I'll keep y'all posted 👍

Ok I’ve decided to do a devlog on my Qt Rhythm game! So I’m gonna try and finish the video in time to release on Monday. Keeping all fingers crossed 🤞

4 More days until the first theme is announced for my #gamejam! We are steadily growing and are just shy of 3 folks - thank you for your shares, reposts and all the love ❤️ We have a very friendly developer community both in general and for the jam itself discord.gg/DMCUgpSZ! #gamedev #indiedev

I am hosting a Charity based GameJam! itch.io/jam/games-fo... A 2 week jam for devs & artists of all levels and types, top entries get donations in their name for an animal based charity of their choice. Hosting this is a dream come true, so excited! #gamedev #gamejam #indiedev #charity #animals

Wooden Board that says "Games for a cause" (name of the jam) with a Capybara with an orange on its head. Text that says "Presented by Capybloom Interactive" (that's me)
