'The Mahabharata' (2024) is a 12 metre long artwork by Debjani Banerjee, which she made collaboratively during a series of open studio events. The title comes from the Indian epic poem of the same name, the longest poem in the world which tells the tale of a war between two related families.

This September, five leading galleries in Liverpool, including the Bluecoat, will host exhibitions on the life and work of celebrated artist Julia Carter Preston. The programme starts on Fri 11 Sep, and will include a symposium looking at her art and its significance to postwar British ceramics.
