And so begins my weak campaign to twin Stockport with Chur.
This keeps coming up as an ad on Insta and... There is a pyramid hotel in Switzerland that is also a McDonald's?!
Readers, it gets worse. On the other side of this sign they are advertising a VIMTO MATCHA. No doubt another "exclusive".
OH and I have agreed that this is a strong no. Hopefully that isn't ruining my (Greater) Mancunian credentials.
There is *surely* a way to fix the electrics on a diesel train so you don't have to keep the engine (and heating!) on for 15 mins while it's sat in the station?
Ah boooo, my wobbly front wheel needs to be sent to Germany for servicing.
Ordering name tapes so I don't lose stuff at camp seemed like a good idea but now I've got to see them all on.
I have been to Decathlon for (hopefully) last few bits ahead of my week-long camp and I'm now testing the solar charger. Here's hoping it isn't cloudy the whole time!
Shopkeepers love to whine "but passing trade" when the council want to bin off parking for a cycle lane but where's the moan when cyclists are sent round the houses away from where all the shops are?
To be fair I've seen the hole made in a tent by a badger who sniffed out some cake crumbs in a pocket. At least now we have a story to scare our Guides into not bringing snacks.
The italicised "will" is my favourite bit. If the scent of that food carries on the wind into the nostrils of those badgers, there will be no hesitation or debate. Doesn't matter what is on the menu. Mere canvas will not stand in their way.
I remember a time when you could paste a citation into Google and it would link you to the paper you wanted.
Omg, other riders stopped mid-race to watch Mathieu Van der Poel’s win on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. 😆
Probably a silly question because NOBODY HAS ANY MONEY but does anyone know of like a (UK) fund you can apply to towards an ebike for disabled people? I think it would do my mental and physical health the world of good if I could get out again in a manageable way but they're so bloody expensive 😩
I'll admit it, this is a bolder summer look than I was expecting from M&S.
Chuckling at the baby 6 music presenter marvelling at how in 2001 we were limited to only listening to albums and CDs. Bless! Fairly sure I had an *extensive* MP3 collection at that point, acquired via means of varying legality (okay probably all illegal but not all downloaded)
A day of 2001 tracks and it's Pyramid Song that's first to completely transport me back in time. I remember a (post-GCSE, super extended) summer in the garden reading my way through a Penguin classics boxset and feeling all intellectual.
What is the best electroclash track and why is it Emerge by Fischerspooner?
So lxds, do we think this was a legal e-bike? "masked teen" and "brakes failed" possible clues huh. Why say "adapted" when you probably mean "illegal"? www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater...
Masked teen rode through red light before ploughing into mum and pram
Bradley Price was riding his adapted e-bike when he ploughed into a mum and pram

Pretty sure I mentioned this a while back but if anyone in the NW wants to know when this dry spell will be *properly* over... I am going camping for a week in Cheshire from a week on Saturday so there we are.
Sorry but I am not willing to accept that Strokes debut album is 25 years old.
And 225 years later the train companies still really dislike having to run a regular service to time...
George Bradshaw, publisher of guides and timetables for travellers, was born on this day 1801 in Pendleton, Salford. Quaker. His timetables are said to have been unpopular with railway companies who found themselves tied to running services on time.
Should have gone out with a stepladder and a tub! Incredible crop next to the library.
Oh good. Yet again I've been locked out of apps on my work phone for "compliance". I've triple checked the system requirements and the current OS version (literally just spent a day getting it to download) is most definitely >> required OS version. Totally not going insane here.
Frustratingly at least two of these are not available in Stockport libraries and it seems that Spydus ability to let you reserve across other GM libraries is currently broken.
