New BuJo finished!
It is done! Just in time. 🙌🏻 I found cloth that came coated from the outside in our little local craft store. It's not very resistance to pressure, though. Put the two coverboards over each other to d...

Gig Purse Finished!
I've finished the gig purse thing. First, the booklet had to be made, so I have something to measure the rubbers against. Hammer time! Well, the hammering of the eyelets had already happened. Only needed to attach the little metal thingies that keep the closing elastic inside. ------------------

Work on the cover has begun. My second time doing bias binding looks a little better than the first time. I even got one corner done really well. :D #sewing #TravelersNotebook #Upcycling hub.hubzilla.de/channel/book...
Giving an old Bag a new Purpose
#sewing #TravelersNotebook #upcycling Did some foldy-squeezy testing with the SnapPap and decided it would work fine as inside material. Also, Mum found an old bag I used to use a lot somewhere, so I'...

Just a Quick Little Longstitch
#bookbinding #fanbinding Nothing big, just a quick one. The signatures were already printed. So I finally cut them. And did a quick longstitch before the dogsite. Yeah, well… The holes were a little c...

No glamour shots of the finished books yet. (Need to edit and upload the video still.) But a last progress post, because of course, I still had to do some fixing before being done done. #bookbinding #fanbinding hub.hubzilla.de/channel/book...
Before we get to the Glamour Shots
The very chonky number three didn't want to play nice with the glue. I do think rounded and in-boards would've worked so much better than this flatback where the textblock is also only attached with t...

A Little Catchup
So, what have I been up to, this past year of radio silence on this channel? Lots of IRL stuff, and then not feeling like filming and editing. Talking of editing, I still can't listen to my own voi...

With the books I'm doing for others winding down and being almost done, I went back to an older project, I had lost the drive to continue with. Did some miscutting of coverboards and thus only one was finished and the other remained waiting. #fanbinding #bookbinding
I wondered if my problem with the index function was due to some weirdness in the file. So I made a new one. And guess what? The moment I click "Insert Index" #Affinity is gone. Poof. Shut down. Disappeared. I'll just recreate the whole thing in V2. Thanks for nothing, V3.
Might be addicted to this 3-signatures bind. Did a little gift I can't post about yet and then had to quickly do a little octavo for tracking dog tricks. (It's drying and being pressed, so photos later.) Cute little octavos are also great for using up leftovers. youtu.be/Yn9Fu5TvlzQ #bookbinding

This one I finished a few days ago, but only took photos today while waiting for the hot foil pen to heat up. A sewn boards adventure log for Mum and her dog for Christmas. I would've liked to also use in-boards bradel for it, but as so often, /2 #bookbinding
And now, everyone please join into the mantra of "Done is Better than Perfect" But you know, I'd rather have the wonky shit happening on my #BulletJournal than on the books I'll do for others. This is an in-boards bradel bind and I *really* needed a refresher for it. #Bookbinding #BuJo
Let's try and get those edges to look a little better and less jagged. *makes everything even worse* 😭
Been a while I posted something, as some IRL stuff paused the bookbinding endeavours for three months at least. So I'm now working on 7 books simultaneously and not taking vids or presentable photos. :P One book's finished, as it's a Crimbo pressy and my new BuJo needs finishing before the 27th…
My supervisor, making sure the books come out alright.
*cries* It is printed. Finally. If something turns out to be wrong or I do a cutting mishap, I will ugly cry for real.
The pages I needed to print vs the misprints because of my stupid HP printer. I should charge them for the paper wasted. #PrintersAreNotYourFriends
Ink Cartridges finally arrived! 🙌🏻 And of course, I put in the already printed signatures wrong, or miscalculated what I've already printed. 🙄 More waste sheets for furture projects!
Mum found Granpa's old compass during the move and I immediately claimed it as mine. [Photo descriptions: Three photos showing a silver mathematical compass covered by black spots that may be rust.]
However, new place new setups. This metal thingy serves as a ruler when cutting signatures, provides something to push signatures against and thriples as a press. #bookbinding
