Another endangered species just lost federal protections. At the request of the Trump administration, a federal judge in Texas removed Endangered Species Act protections from the dunes sagebrush lizard, a species found only in parts of southeastern New Mexico and West Texas.

I've been waiting for a name for the man who was hit by the truck in Florida to update this. Name from MSN, if it's wrong I'll update it again. Also updated to include Jesús Manuel Arenas-Silva, who died in ICE custody. The sharp uptick of people dying in custody after 2025 is very disturbing.

The Washington memorial stands at the end of a long pool. The water is blood red and murky, and chain link fences line the sidewalk surround. On the water is listed the names of recorded deaths by ICE/Border patrol. This includes those who died while in detention and those killed. Their location and date of death is also listed. The names get smaller and smaller, stretching seemingly to infinity. Listed are just the recorded deaths from 2024 to the present day. It doesn't include those who died before 2024 because I simply ran out of space. It doesn't include the missing. It doesn't include unrecorded deaths. 2024 only accounts for 11 deaths. The rest are from 2025 to present, after Trump regained power. In less conspicuous text it reads: 2025 - Present data from theicelist.org 2024 from Wikipedia. My mother’s answer to period cramps, labor pain, etc came down to Eve. We were cursed with pain because Eve bit the apple. Never a conversation about pain management or what levels of pain were “normal.” A pure soul believed the first lie she heard so women die in childbirth. What a cruel god.

Things continue to be terrible. A friend, who has been active in witnessing and documenting ICE activity, woke up to those fuckers outside her house, blocking her vehicle, and photographing her family (including children). Don't stop fighting. This isn't over.

Reminder for everyone, everywhere to have extra furnace filters and air purifiers on hand in their homes. When these fuckers come to your neighborhood (when, not if) they may deploy so much chemical irritant that it will get into your home and make it difficult to breathe.
