It kinda was tho, having a structured viewing window means I could plan my day around it and invite friends over to watch it, and maybe I just have the TV on before it starts while I'm cooking and discover a new show I like that I would never pick out of a streaming list.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.

It's so frustrating to remember being smarter but somehow lacking the brain power to achieve the same level of understanding again
