Okay, nuance time!!! It's true: -The attack on Fort Sumpter was an act of aggression -Slavery was, actually, really bad. Though extreme cruelty (whipping, rape, etc) wasn't the norm, it still HAPPENED. However: -The South TRULY WAS more chivalric, romantic, and noble. -Yankee Tarrifs were obscene.
