I'm not sure if it makes the characters more appealing to expand on their lore and personalities, but I like to imagine it does. Kind of gives you an idea about what they'd be like to talk to or interact with.

Lucretia and her little crew are a pastiche of Castlevania and no Castlevania roster is complete without an out of place creature from Japanese folklore.
