There is no divine commandment to allow free passage through straits that are in territorial waters. It is a principle of customary international law established through centuries of violent enforcement by the world's leading commercial powers. If they can no longer enforce it, the law will change.

The Soviet Union did not "abolish private property" as we understand it. People still had personal property, bank accounts, and rural homes. What it had was state ownership of the means of production. Like what the Trump administration is doing by extorting ownership of a hundred companies.
