Group of singers sharing stories from the road.

We still can’t quite believe that really happened. Early music had its moment on the greatest stage in all of classical music on Wednesday, and we’re so proud of our performance. We’re so pleased by the response from the 2,500 people in the room, and the many more listening on BBC Radio 3 🎶

What. A. Night. Last night we performed to some 2,500 at the Royal Albert Hall. That feeling is indescribable, but it’s something that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. It was a chance for our favourite music to take centre stage on the biggest of all stages. ❤️

Back in Bristol! Here we are looking suitably delighted to have returned to one of our oldest haunts, the south western English city, Bristol. All Saints’ Clifton is a building we have performed in many times, and it was particularly good to share one of our newest programmes ‘Vaults of Time’ ♥️

It feels like yonks ago, but July began in Brisbane with the final stop of our Australia tour. Since then, we’ve given 10 concerts across Europe and the UK, as well as our Renaissance Music Weekend 2026. We’ve all earned a bit of rest and are now enjoying a couple of weeks of summer holidays. 🏝️

We’re sorry to announce that tonight’s concert with Matilda Lloyd at Abbaye du Thoronet in Provence has been postponed due to wildfires in the area. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these devastating events, including the festival team who have been forced to cancel all their concerts.

We reunited with Matilda Lloyd for our joint programme “Radiant Dawn” in Richmond, the second collaboration of our Ryedale Festival residency, following a late-night performance with cellist Josephine Knight 🎻

A special occasion! 🎉 There’s no better way to celebrate the launch of our latest album, Wishing Tree, than with a Wigmore Hall concert live on BBC Radio 3. Thank you to everyone who turned out for this first concert at the Hall since our 5-year residency was announced.

That’s a lot of happy singers! 😊 We’ve had a wonderful weekend with Vox Anima London. We shared a double bill with singers from The Carey Chorale & Meistersingers of Mississippi, first at Rochester Cathedral and then back where it all began for us: Trinity College, Cambridge.

Queensland debut: ✅ We closed out our Australia tour in style with this incredible concert hall. Sadly we didn’t have an excuse to stir the QPAC organ into life this time, but it did provide a wonderful backdrop for our programme ‘Wishing Tree’ 🌳 Catch up with our tour blogs on Patreon now 😊

We couldn’t not take a photo in front of this icon of classical music. We may have been performing elsewhere in Sydney this time, but when we last visited we sang in the Opera House itself. Coming back brought back some lovely memories, even if we were only sightseeing this time!

Woo!! Our 11th album 🎉 “Wishing Tree” is out now. We’re so proud of this one. A collection of our favourite madrigals and folk songs from across the British Isles and the continent. Listen now - link in bio!

We’ve just been on BBC Radio 3 to announce the first groups in our Emerging Ensembles programme 📻 Led by the group and delivered in partnership with the National Centre for Early Music, this aims to nurture outstanding ensembles and support the next stage of their professional development 🥳

Secret Byrd Tour 2026 ✅ We’ve just wrapped up a fantastic 5-night tour of Secret Byrd across the UK, in London, Perth and last night culminating with two performances in Bath Abbey. We’ll be talking all about the tour, plus much more on Radio 3’s In Tune from 17:15 on Wednesday! 📻

Throwback to 2022 🕰️ Way back in 2015, we embarked on our first summer tour of some of lovelier parts of this country. Salisbury became an instant favourite and have always found excuses to return. ⛪︎ St Mary and St Nicholas Church, Wilton 🎶The Vaults of Time 📆 Tuesday 2 June 2026 🎟️ On our website

What’s coming up? Our Secret Byrd tour continues tonight up in Perth, Scotland before making a stop in Bath Abbey next Sunday. Looking ahead, we’ll be previewing our BBC Proms programme down in Wilton, Wiltshire on June 2nd 📻 Then… we’re Australia-bound! 🇦🇺

It’s not long now before we embark on our 3rd trip down under. Its returns to Sydney, Hobart, Adeleide and Melbourne from our past tours and our debut in Brisbane. We’ll be bringing with us two of our favourite programmes: ‘Lux Aeterna’ alongside music from our forthcoming album ‘Wishing Tree’ 🌳

A weekend in the countryside 🌿 It’s been a month of recording in beautiful corners of the UK. It’s not long since we were in Sussex recording with Chelys Consort of Viols, but this weekend we were in Norfolk recording a new work - Summersuite - written for the group by Tony Britten

Secret Byrd, London: Opening Night 🕯️ Our first Secret Byrd of 2026 is a wrap. It’s the first time we’ve brought this immersive concert to London since its premiere in 2023. Night Two at Sinfonia Smith Square is this evening, with performances at 18:30 and 21:30 alongside the wonderful Fretwork.

A new album in the works 🎙️ We’re hard at work recording “Faire is the Rose” — an album centred on the music of Orlando Gibbons and contemporary responses to his writing. All the more joyful for being in such an extraordinary building

Bild

Collab loading ⌛️ We’ve been hard at work rehearsing for a special concert this weekend. On Sunday night, we’ll be in the beautiful Boxgrove Priory, performing alongside Chelys Consort of Viols in a programme of Orlando Gibbons and contemporary responses to this extraordinary repertoire 🎶

Bild

Some exciting news… We’re performing at the BBC Proms this summer with a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. On 2 September, we’ll join the Colin Currie Group for an atmospheric late-night Prom featuring 900-year-old chant, Renaissance polyphony, and music by Steve Reich.

Bild

Fresh from her RPS Young Artist Award success, Matilda Lloyd is joining us this week for two performance of ‘Radiant Dawn’. We started working with Matilda years ago whilst studying at Cambridge, so to perform together last night back in our home town felt like a full circle moment ♥️

Bild

As the days begin to lengthen and everything starts to blossom, it feels like a good time to share the album artwork for our next release, "Wishing Tree". Designed by Mair Park, it beautifully brings to life the verdant, summery landscapes and sun-kissed love explored in this collection of music 🎶
