Jeffrey Lewis’ ‘Spin it or Bin it’ ongoing series trawling through his (and sometimes others’) vinyl is a daily joy, feels like it’s becoming one of THE classic bits of music curation a la Nurse With Wound list/Kurt’s favourite 50 albums but for psych/acid folk freaks. Look it up on fb/insta/YT.

Island Life - Borderline Apostasy (featuring Jeff Young) About a year ago I took a punt and messaged one of my favourite authors @wildtwin.bsky.social about collaborating on a tune I was working on. To my surprise and delight he agreed. Here’s the result. islandlife1.bandcamp.com/track/border...

‘Being in Madness kept some of them out of jail’: how the baggy-trousered nutty boys made a guerrilla cinema classic
From a jail-inspired light sabre fight to the moment a sax-player flew, Take It or Leave It brilliantly captured the band’s grimy origins. Will the film’s return see it finally honoured as a music mov...

Neu album 'Art is Embarrassing' by the Legendary Mark Peter Savage which features our collaboration 'Make Art!' is out this week. marksavage.bandcamp.com/album/art-is...
Right. I have now added six more recent pylon artworks to my ink/watercolour originals shop. Here are the first three. If you could share this post I’d be appreciative. If you want to buy one before sharing that’s also fine. www.chloecumming.com/inkwater
Not really adding anything new to the conversation here by saying this is phenomenal and you should all read it. But it is, and you should.
This is fun. I’ve got loads of these as I’m sure has everyone but gonna go with Oh! You Pretty Things into Eight Line Poem on Hunky Dory. Sounds like an outro on the same song, same key, same piano chord ends one and starts the next…..
You know when a song ends and you automatically 'hear' the start of another one in your head, due to them being next to each other on a familiar album? What's your ultimate pairing? For me it's "Cat-er-pill-ar girl..." then CRASH CRASH CRASH of "In Between Days", off The Cure's Standing On A Beach.
So many contenders for this but I always come back to: Pink Flag Chairs Missing 154 Perfection.
Superstar by Jamelia playing in M&S this morning. Top tier banger.
Found a couple of old instant cameras from early 00’s which had never been developed until now. Powerful nostalgia now ensues. Brighton beach 2004 (at a guess).
Haddock, chips & curry sauce from the King’s Road chippy. This is a ‘small’ chips!
Currently reading, would highly recommend (as I would all PRK’s books, which are uniformly fantastic).

Hal here, posing for his confessional singer-songwriter album cover.
Was going to watch Legends with Steve Coogan. Opening scene: ‘Liverpool 1990’ - a kid leaves his house, goes to a party where N-Trance ‘Set You Free’ is playing (released 1993, only became a hit in ‘95) This kind of thing drives me nuts, so lazy. Anyway, won’t be watching any more of that.

Great article about the new Super Furries reissue and potted history of Welsh language underground music. I winced at the description of ‘Hiraeth’ by non-Welsh speakers, having, ahem, co-written a track with that title! But a fantastic read. The Ffa Coffi Pawb doc linked also well worth a watch.
Precreation Percolation, a compilation of SUPER FURRY ANIMALS' earliest works, is out today. I've written a deep dive for @TheQuietus.com looking at the underground Cymraeg scene from which SFA sprang, and shifting perceptions of Welshness and of Welsh language pop. thequietus.com/quietus-revi...
