what's true for so many of my peers is that it would help us MORE if more people shared, wrote comments and reviews, recommended our books (self-promo is very frowned upon), asked for us at conventions or other events -- time is money too, spoons are limited, but we can all aim to do more of this.

Pro tip: you don’t have to comm artists to boost and support them. People claim they can’t support artists and creators because they are financially strapped, but they can still boost posts, comment, like, and in general just be supportive! It’s completely free outside of an internet connection ;)

No fucking AI! The examples below were done respectively using: Clip Studio Paint and PaintTool SAI 2 (both using a Huion Kamvas Pro 16); regular bic ballpoint pens, and cheap colored rainbow pencil (on common sketchbook paper, nothing fancy) 2026 is literally my 20th year of digital art alone ✌️

Digital art in colors, mimicking some traditional textures of pencil/paint on paper - waist up of the commissioner's OC (EliosRose Crotato on VGen). It depicts a young ethereal lady with light blue skin and long white hair. She's dressed in billowy robes in shades of dark blue and silvery embroideries, and fingerless black sleeves. Her hair is white but it has a rainbow-like shimmer and highlights. She's looking at us with a soft smile, one of her hands up, a star-shaped crystal glowing above it in colorful lights. The background is a starry sky.My depiction of Xena, Warrior Princess and her mare Argo. In my version, Xena still has bright, light blue eyes and straight, chest-length black hair, but she's a lot more muscular, she has a darker/tanner skin tone crossed with all sorts of battle scars and one across her neck, and she's wearing an armor heavily inspired by Macedonian / Alexander The Great type of armor. She's looking off-frame, with a serious, thoughtful, distant expression. Across her waist, she has a Bulgarian-inspired traditional coins. She's standing in a golden wheat field, holding a xiphos sword with one hand, and the other resting on the muzzle of her mare, Argo; Argo is a palomino horse (golden coat, white, curly mane), and is behind Xena, resting her head against Xena's shoulder. The painting is digital, but style and composition and mimicking traditional oil paintings (Bouguereau, especially) Black and pink ballpointpen sketches on paper.
