Over the 2026 summer, The Hive has been fortunate enough to have several visits from the wonderful Caramel 🐶. Caramel is part of the Read2Dogs scheme, organised by Pets As Therapy.

The Hive is delighted to have @gulljunkart.bsky.social's 'The Gulls' on loan from The Worcester Plinth. Currently displayed in our Level 1 Atrium, these giant birds are made from waste items 'woven together as a symbol of our human interconnectedness with the natural world'. Come and see them!

This July, The Hive is delighted to be a part of the city-wide Wizard of Oz trail taking place in the build up to Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Youth Society’s performance at The Swan Theatre in August.

As always, The Hive is busy and bustling today with a range of events, activities, and groups. In the back office, the team are crafting, creating, and planning for this year's Summer Reading Challenge, a fantastic literacy programme created by The Reading Agency.

Today, a new presentation moved in to our first floor atrium, organised by the University of Worcester and Worcestershire Litfest & Fringe. It is titled: Our Future is Ancestral Marche de Mulheres (Praying with Our Feet).

From 29th-31st May, Speak Volumes! Festival delivered their annual event in and around The Hive and The Arches. The library was host to a series of fantastic performances and activities, delivered by a talented set of individuals and organisations:

Our library houses over 250,000 books across five floors. You might have enjoyed a few paperbacks from our adult fiction section, or perhaps you've spent hours leafing through our endless supply of picture books.

We last posted about our Study Happy offer and its availability to all students, both inside and outside of the University of Worcester. Today we want to talk about another wonderful feature of our partnership: our books.
