I guess I would describe held. as 00's-era heavier emo with a modern Turnstile groove? My early standout tracks are #5 "Waves of Fire" and #10 "Emptiness: A Side Effect".
THIS RIPS. C.O.F.F.I.N are thrashy, clever punk from Australia. Amyl & The Sniffers is an easy comparison, but I feel like there's some Motorhead, too. And they stretch out and slow down into rootsy, bluesy territory on occasion. #newmusic #punk

There might be some good songs on the new Strokes album. I’m not sure I could tell, though, because the auto-tune vocals are SO F@&$ING IRRITATING.
Heard this a couple times and dug the trading M/F vocals and power-pop meets hardcore punk dynamic. Feldspar are an 8-piece from Italy with one album out and another on the way.

Apparently I missed the music blog buzz around WU LYF when they put out their only other album 15 years ago. They described themselves as 'heavy pop'. I'd describe this as soulful, indie rock. Singer has a kinda gravelly Chuck Ragan quality.
