Considering where the report is coming from, my assumption is the Detmers trade will happen but the two sides are still haggling over pieces. Even the language used to refute the deal leads me to believe they are just leaning on th technicality of "not done YET."
Coby Bryant out 8-10 weeks is bad but not catastrophic for the Bears. As soon as Loveland said he thought Bryant would "ultimately be ok" because "he's a dawg" I saw red flags about something much worse. That's a player wishcasting.
A bill like this would be on the short list of things to actually make me move out of a state.

With broadcast TV you knew exactly when and where appointment viewing would be. No surprises and all plans could be made around the known facts. It was simple and straight forward.

mtsw@mtsw.bsky.social · 3d agonow it's all perfectly accessible on-demand and instead of the dopamine hit of coming along an unexpected treasure while channel surfing, its a stressful paradox-of-choice cognitive load to select what to watch among millions of options. It's kind of interesting!
The Gausman deal feels like a good move for the Cubs. At worst he’s still a top half of the rotation starter with potential to be 1 or 2 with experience in the postseason. Yes he’s a 35 year old rental, but the price was more than worth it.
I don’t think there is a hitter on the Cubs roster right now I trust less in a big situation than Happ right now. Even the young guys, there is at least a chance they do something. Happ you know exactly what you’re getting.
