I am seeing a lot of posts about the Kennedy Center. It is a place near to my heart.I began playing the violin at 4 and my teacher was married to William Steck, the concertmaster of the National Symphony Orchestra. I saw so many brilliant moments there—from Mr. Steck to Rostropovich to Zuckerman 1/2
I just saw a picture of Lily’s son. He is beautiful and I can see so much of her in him. 💗💗💗
It really hurts to board Lily. I feel her next to me like a ghost. The kennel tells me she needs anti-anxiety meds. Like mother, like daughter. 😭
Sweet baby velvet angel face brings so much joy to my world. Even going to bed is a moment to celebrate—it means a shared sleep experience and the promise of tomorrow.
Every walk I wonder what would happen if I only had 1 waste bag but needed 2. You'd think I'd be proactive. But no. Today, for the 1st time, Lily offered a 2nd, & soft 🤢, gift. It took so much plastic origami to get the single waste bag around the yogurt & get home without getting covered in shit.
I just woke up with Lily in my arms thinking she was Benny, my cocker who died six years. All night I thought she was Benny. It was sweet of him to visit. 🌈 🩵
Huge victory: I’m booking an overseas plane trip and I don’t need wheelchair assistance at the airports! So much has changed in the last 1.5 years, and sometimes I lose focus on these massive wins. Yeah!!!!
I’m allowed to stay in bed until 6:45, when my double vision meds subside& I can finish coffee.Then I’ll walk my bebbeh, shower, & get my ass in gear for the day.That means find my passport, go to UPS,go to the seamstress,&book a car.Also, eat nachos.Thx for being my accountability partner, Bluesky.

Prickly skin and up nearly all night, only needing two hours of sleep to wake up feeling electric. It’s a harbinger of Very Bad Things, but now I can spot signs early (prickly skin—who knew?!). And now I have Lily to ground me and help take care of me while I take care of her. 🥹Doggie tax:
Discovered: a nest of honeybees in a water meter. Built: a little house to transport them to the rancho where they can build a bigger hive and produce honey. Tonight: an attempted queen extraction and entry of the workers. My gardener says he has a 75% success rate. Wish us well.
This was a beautiful, meaningful day. It began with voter registration and continued with a community discussion about emerging law enforcement technology and data centers. It is good to find my people. I have a community. And the best part of my day is always waiting for me at home. I’m not alone.🩵
Tomorrow I am taking 6 naturalized U.S. citizens to get registered to vote in Texas. They saw the signs I have for @jamestalarico.bsky.social & @ginafortexas.bsky.social & stopped me outside of my house to say they & their family are no longer intimidated to vote. Texans, let’s do this thing. #gotv

Lily gets excited every time I put on a bra. 1) Does it mean I’m leaving and she’ll get treats?; 2) Does it mean we’re leaving and she’ll get walkies and/or a car ride?; but never 3) Mummy could use the support. See also: shoes.

When I spoke with my mom today she asked if I lit the Dolly Parton candle that Santa gave me a couple of Christmases ago. I haven’t and won’t, and I do love looking at it.
Last night I called the cops for a mental health wellness check on someone I know from a group.Today she is furious & said she’d rather be dead than suffer the embarrassment of having to explain cops to her neighbors.I did the right thing.Her actions have consequences & are out of my control.Still.
